Solution of frames involving side sway, Analysis of
closed frames and multistory portal frames.
 Application of computer in structural Analysis:
Application of Sap2000 and ETABS for structural

 Plastic Analysis: Introduction, Plastic hinge, Shape
factor, Plastic section modulus, Analysis of simple
cases of 1 or 2 span beams.

Week 1 Introduction and revision of concepts regarding statically determinate and


Indeterminate structures.
Week 2 Introduction to Force Method and its basic methodology. Derivation of basic
equations used in the analysis of different structural system.
Week 3 Application of Force Method to beams with single and multiple degree and of
indeterminacy. Examples and hands on practice of problems within the class.
Week 4 Application of Force Method to Frames with single and multiple degree of
indeterminacy. Examples and hands on practice of problems within the class.
