The Pulse Lubricating system (PLS) is the latest lubrication standard system of
Wärtsilä 2-stroke engines. Dosage pumps are very similar but lubricating quills and
injection timing are different:

1. Pulse Feed (frontal oil distribution) 3. Pulse jet (angular oil distribution)
2. injections into piston rings 4. injection distributed above piston, into
piston rings and below piston

NOTE:
The Pulse lubricating system can be found in Wärtsilä 2-stroke engines depending of
the system:
• Pulse feed: RTA62, RTA72, RTA82C, RTA82T, RTA84T, RTA84C, RTA 96C series
and RT-flex engines.
• Pulse Jet: RTA48T-D, RT-flex48T-D, RT-flex50-B, RT-flex58T-D, RT-flex58T-E,
RT-flex68-D, RT-flex82T, RT-flex84T-D, RT-flex96C-B and W-X82 engines.
