ABSTRACT
Our project team proposed to construct a Hospital building at Akkanayakkanpatti,
Tuticorin district. The project consists of planning, designing and estimating of three storey
hospital building. This is the framed structure. It consists of ground floor, first floor & second
floor.

In India science and technology is growing faster and higher. As a result of increase in life time
as there is increase in life time the death rate of human being is considerably in a trend. Each and
every one desire is to live along life. But due to population problems the people health affected
and they had go for a treatment facilities for the affected people. The population in that area is
roughly estimated as 50000.

AutoCAD and Archi CAD software’s are used for drawing and designing respectively.

Our hospital building is designed for 100 beds. We have provided different rooms such as
Reception, Consulting Room, Duty Doctors room, Operation theatre, ICU, CCU, General ward,
Scanning room, Nursing Room, Patient’s room, Pharmacy, Lab, Cash counter, Store room,
Canteen, Conference hall.

The soil is hard strata and the foundation is provided at depth of 1m below the ground
level. The PCC using 1:4:8 mix of 1000mm x 200mm wide. It consists of RR masonry in CM
1:5. The super structure will be in brick work in CM 1:5 to a height of 3.5m above the basement
level.

One elevator and one ramp are provided for connecting all the floor of the hospital.
Beams are designed by considering the maximum bending moment and shear force. Columns are
designed by considering axial force. Foundation is designed for bearing capacity of 180KN/m2.

Area of the building: 2100 M2

INTRODUCTION
The project work consists of planning analysis and design of modern
hospital building. This is a framed structure. It consists of ground floor, first floor,
second floor, third floor& fourth floor. The site should be selected according to the
following requirement

In that building provides that accessibility, traffic, density of people, safe

disposal of wastes of surrounding area people, water and electrical facilities.

The hospital is provided with septic tank capacity 30 m3.Sewers are

constructed at very low levels, so that clean and maintain. Hospital building is
more important just a building with rooms. It is a complicated highly specialized
functional structure which must be designed for various facilities.

We carry out the project on the construction of hospital building it is suited

in the AKKANAYAKKAN PATTI OF TUTI CORIN district we believed that
our project. “The proposed construction of hospital building “will fulfill the health
needs of the people ranging from lower to higher classes.
SPECIFICATION REPORT
FOUNDATION:
The foundation is proposed at a depth of 1.4m from ground level. The
foundation concrete shall be

C.C 1:5:10 using 40mm broken stone for a depth of 400 mm. The Footing size
is 2mx2m.

PLINTH BEAM:
The plinth beam has been proposed with concrete it shall be C.C 1:2:4 using
40mm broken stone of size of 250mm x 500mm.

SUPER STRUCTURE:

The super structure has been proposed with brickwork in CM 1:5 mixes having
width of 200mm & its height is 3m from ground level.

R.C.C SLAB:
The slab has been proposed in R.C.C 1:4:8 using 40mm hard broken stone to
a depth of 160mm for all ROOMS.

COLUMN:
The column in the building has been proposed with C.C 1:4:8 & exposed
surface of all R.C.C work has been plastered with C.M 1:5.The size of the column
is 200mmx200mm.

BEAM:
The beam in the building has been proposed with C.C 1:4:8 &
exposed surface of all R.C.C work has been plastered in C.M 1:5.The
size of beam is 350mmx735mm.
