incorporates three churches surrounded by
a fortified wall completed with 9 towers, 8 of
which were dedicated to the various trades that
contributed significantly to the thriving economic
life of the medieval town. The main buildings
protected by the walls of the citadel are a Calvinist
Citadel Technical college church built in the late XV century in Gothic style,
a Lutheran church erected in the XIX century, and
the XVI century royal palace that currently hosts
the History Museum of Aiud.
Here you have the chance to see a stone slab that
was once part of a grape press dating from the
time of the Dacians. The winemaking tradition still
continues in the Aiud area, where many small and
medium sized wine makers have their vineyards.
There is also a winemaking school in Cimbrud.
You can also visit the City Hall, built in 1890; the
oldest monument in the city, named Students’
Monument, located in the city park, which was
erected in 1904 in the memory of the students
who fought in 1704 against the Habsburg
invasion; the Calvarul Aiudului Monument, which
was built in remembrance of the resistance
against communism; the Orthodox Cathedral
Sofia (Istanbul); the Roman Catholic Church built
in 1726 -1727 in baroque style and the Reformed
Church built at the ending of 15th century in the
late Gothic style.
You can relax, after a day of history lessons, at the
town’s swimming pool, pick some bio fruit and
vegetables at the farmer’s market and enjoy the
many shops, restaurants and cafes.
Now energised, leave for Rimetea, an open-air
museum, boasting approximately 200 traditional
homes – the oldest of which was built in 1668.
The oldest watermill in the area is still functional!
Visit the Rimetea ethnographic museum, too.
People from all over the country take part every
year in the Aiud Marathon that starts in the old
town and follows forest paths near Aiud.

spanning over centuries, Aiud has some great

college Bethlen Gabor, founded in 1622, is located
in a 19th century historical building and includes

Turda has always been related to the salt mine activities that took place here even before the
Roman period of Potaissa.
In the middle ages, Turda becomes a historic landmark of religious freedom, after the 1558 Diet
of Turda declared free practice of both the Catholic and Lutheran religions, edict that was later
extended to all religions.
Now famous for its world known and perfectly restored Salt Mine, Turda is also the place for

the first Romanian public school, the first use of the Latin alphabet, and the centre for the
Romanian Age of Enlightenment. Ideally located in a picturesque natural setting, Blaj nowadays

breaths history: the Metropolitan Palace, The
Holy Trinity Cathedral (built in baroque style,
1749), The Annunciation Monastery, The Greek
Catholic Church, The Liberty field (where in
1848 the Great National assembly took place),
monuments dedicated to Avram Iancu, an
important revolutionary figure of the 1848 revolt
in the Austrian Hungarian Empire. Near Blaj, you
can visit the famous 18th century baroque style
Bethlen Castle.
Blaj is not all about history: in the beginning
of summer, Blaj aLive Festival brings into the
spotlight both national and international artistic
trends, on the Liberty Field representing the
freedom of expression for various cultural and
artistic organisations from across the country. A
Bosch initiative, the Festival is organised with the
help of the local authorities and is not all about
music: an innovation fair, educational workshops
and many fun activities also take place during the
festival, which is free for Bosch employees.

honey are welcomed at the annual Honey Festival,

‘Celebration of Freedom’ with a parade where
everyone is invited to march along the streets in

Blaj has a multi-century tradition of Romanian
education: here, the first Romanian public school
was created in 1754 , using the Latin alphabet
instead of Cyrillic. In the age of Enlightenment, the
city of Blaj was named “The Little Rome” due to
the activism of the “Transylvanian School” society
in promoting the Latin cultural heritage.

The Bosch Group has been present in Romania for more than 20 years and employs approximately
4,800 associates in four entities in the country. In 2016, Bosch generated consolidated sales
of 332 million euros in Romania. The company’s headquarters is based in Bucharest where
Bosch also has a sales office for Mobility Solutions, Consumer Goods, and Energy and Building
technology products. In Cluj, Bosch operates a research and development center as well as a
production unit for automotive technology. The company runs also a business solutions center
in Timisoara. In addition, there is a branch of BSH Hausgeräte GmbH, active in the market of
household appliances, also located in the country’s capital.

Evolution
2005 was the year of laying the foundation of
Bosch Plant in Blaj. The construction of the first
production unit started the year after and in 2007
the first products ever made on our site came to
life.
2008 brought about the extension of our facilities,
with a second unit which began the production
activities in 2009. The excellent results in
production of guiding rails, runnerblocks and
ballbushings - since 2007, BljP plays a key role in
the international production network - and also
the nationwide sales network we developed made
us the proud recipients of the much sought-after
Robert Bosch Q-Prize, by 2010.
While the third production facility, part of the
Chassis Systems Control division, was operating
by 2013, in 2015 we started new important
projects: the E-Modules, the Solenoids, and the
Oxygen Sensor projects.
Part of the Automotive Technology sector, the
Gasoline Systems comprises an ample product
portfolio: Electronic Module 3rd Generation;
Electronic Module 2nd Generation; Solenoid
valves D26; Magnets LFS.

 Boasting a large applicability, the Gasoline
Systems are suitable for all transmission types,
offering an increased control and a reduction
of weight of automatic transmissions, suiting
new challenges. They also ensure: bleed type
pilot control valve for automated transmissions,
a highly robust protection against leakage and
contamination, reduced leakage with closed-
end function, and a high flexibility regarding
mechanical and electrical interfaces.
The Chassis Systems Control sector offers the
wheel speed sensors: DF6-7, DF11, and the
DF30. All being components of passenger safety
equipment, their respective advantages are:
detection of wheel rotation speed and direction
and of blocking wheels (ABS-ESP ) during break
for all the sensors and fast direction detection
