Step 2
For the chicken pieces, you need to make another gravy in another cooking pot.
Add 1/4 cup of oil into the cooking pot.
Then take 3 tomatoes and 1 onion and make into a paste. Add paste in the oil and
add 1 teaspoon turmeric powder and red chili powder, salt to taste, and 2 tsp of
garlic paste and 1 tsp of ginger paste.
Cook on low to medium heat until oil separates from the gravy, add chicken pieces
in this gravy and rotate all the chicken pieces in the gravy until all the chicken
pieces are covered.
Keep on very low heat for 5 minutes.
Step 3
Add 12 to 14 measuring cups of water into the Sobat gravy and salt to taste.
When Sobat mixture starts boiling, add Coriander powder.
After 2 to 3 minutes turn heat on low and sprinkle garam masala on top of Sobat
mixture.
Step 4
Make small pieces from Manay, Roti or Chapati and put them in the kitchen cloth
or covered dish.
Step 5
Before preparing Sobat, take out upper layer of oil in the bowl from Sobat mixture
(soup).
Take out black cardamom and cinnamon stick from Sobat
mixture.
Step 6
Put Manay in the microwave for 20 seconds (only if Manay (roti,Chapati pieces are
cold).
In the Thaal or deep dish, pour some sobat mixture, and put first layer of manay
pieces so they can soak in the mixture. Continue to make layers of sobat mixture,
Manay and use the oil we took out from the Sobat mixture top layer. Put the
chicken on top.
Decorate Sobat with tomatoes slices,lime green chilies.
Serve with yogurt dip.
For making yogurt dip you need
hand chopped sweet onion, tomato.green chili, green coriander & pinch of salt and
black peppers.
Mix everything in the yogurt and eat with Sobat.
