NOTA is an Indian bilingual political thriller directed by Anand Shankar. It stars Vijay Deverakonda,
making his debut in Tamil cinema and Mehreen Pirzada, in the lead roles. Produced by Studio
Green, this film will have Sam C. S. as the music director while Ravi K. Chandran's son, Santhana
Krishnan Ravichandran handles the cinematography. The film premiered on 5 October 2018 in
India[1] and on 4 October 2018 in the United States.[3] The film was adapted from novel Vettattam by
Shan Karuppusamy who is also involved in the film's screenplay.[4] The film was dubbed into Telugu
under the same title.

Plot[edit]
Varun is a Video Game Designer living in the US. He is made the Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu, after
his dad resigns the post. Varun, who has no idea about all this, accepts for it. He does nothing for it,
except playing video games in his room. After his dad gets arrested, riots take place in the city. He
then realises the importance of his position and stops the riots, by threatening, in a press meeting.
This is not liked by the opposition party. Meanwhile, Vinothan is attacked and gets admitted in the
hospital. Varun comes to know that the case his father was fighting for, involved a property of
10000cr. He, along with his friend Wong, investigates about it. He faces a lot of problems in his post
as a CM, but gains the support of the people, with the help of Mahendran. He then takes part in the
elections, and wins it. This is not liked by his father, as he thought Varun was not his son. It is then
revealed that Vinothan's wife had committed suicide because she didn't like him cheating with other
women. Varun, wins the elections and Mahendran tells that he loved Vinothan's wife, before they got
married. But he didn't meet her after that. He also told that Varun was Vinothan's own son, and not
any other's. Vinothan realises his mistake and asks Varun to forgive him. Varun then continues his
duty as the CM and brings many changes in the State.
