Scorpion Drones

Scorpion Drones are specifically constructed for assaults against enemy infantry and vehicles. They have no ranged weapons but they
are very fast and equipped with deadly close combat weapons. The primary weapon they use against vehicles and fortifications is a
Stinger Tentacle with a hardened tip that is quite capable of punching through thick armor.Once it penetrates, the Drone can inject
Green Gas into the interior of the attacked vehicle, insuring its destruction. Against lighter targets like infantry, a Scorpion Drone has
both a Reaper Tentacle and a Slicer Arm giving it two attacks in Assault (Rapid Fire 2). A Scorpion Drone may use either its Stinger
Tentacle OR its Slicer Arm/ Reaper Tentacle Combination. It cannot use both weapon systems in the same Assault turn.

Shock Drones
Shock Drones have been specifically designed by the Martians to help flush hidden human forces with barrages of Shock Caniste rs.
They are essentially walking guns, very similar to their larger cousin, the so called Grenadier Tripod, but have lighter guns, less range
and power, but are far more numerous. They are often used to support other waves of Drones or advancing hordes of Lobototons.
They are not particularly accurate, and like many Martianmissile firing machines, benefit greatly when their targets are illuminated by
targeters such as those found on Scout Tripods and Sneak Drones.

Drones

A Drone unit can do nothing at all in its own turn unless it has a Martian Controller withi n 12”. It cannot move in the first move phase
unless it has a controller within 12” at the start of the phase, it cannot shoot or make an assaultin the combat phase unless there is a
controller within 12”, and it cannot move in the second move phase unle ss there is a controller within 12” at the start of the phase. If a
Drone unit is ever obliged to move for any reason, and there is no controlee within range to enable to do so, it can still mo ve as
required. Drones are semi-autonomous and can make limited decisions for themselves.

Reaper Tentacles

A Drone uses its tentacles to grab humans and tear them apart. If a Drone is within 6” of a Harvester or Gatherer, any human infantry
it kills during an assault are automatically captured by the Harvester or Gatherer (capturing humans in this way is a scenario objective
in some battles).

Inaccurate

Medium Launchers are inaccurate and suffer a-2 penalty when rolling to hit. For example, against a Defense of 6, a Medium
Launcher will require a roll of 8 to score a hit. Note that the die roll receives a bonus of +3 if shooting at a target illuminated by a
Scout Tripod or Sneak Drone using a Targeter - which makes this a particularly useful combination.

Shock Canister

Shock Canisters explode with a massive shoc k wave focused in the immediate area. If you fail to hit when shooting with a Shock
canister, you can take the roll again - if this re-roll is successful, then you have hit the target after all- such is the power of its
concussive blast.
Sniper Drones

Sniper Drones are a semi–autonomous Martian drone specifically created as an anti-vehicle weapon platform. They are
preprogrammed to provide fire support to a tripod they are attached to. Many times, Martian tripods find themselves in an
over ly rich target environment and the “Sniper Drones”, as humans call them, were developed to augment the Heat Rays.

Must be Attached

Sniper Drones must be attached in groups of three elements to Martian Tripods. No more than one unit of Sniper Drones
can ever be linked to any given tripod. Any style of Martian Tripod except for Grenadiers can be supported by Sniper
Drones. The Sniper Drones must stay within six inches of the tripod they are connected to. They move when the tripod
they are attached to moves. Sniper Drones ALWAYS fire at the nearest visible vehicle target first. If no enemy vehicles
are in line of sight, they will fire on the closest enemy unit. The Sniper Drones always fire on the same enemy Unit and
cannot split their fire between multiple targets. If the tripod they are linked to is destroyed, the Sniper Drones will remain
in place for the rest of the game within 6 inches of the downed tripod firing as described above until they are destroyed or
run out of ammunition.

Run out of Ammunition

Anytime a Sniper Drone Rolls a one to HIT, it has run out of ammunition and scuttles back to the Martian side and is
immediately removed from play.

Reprogram

A Scientist Tripod can reprogram Sniper Drones to attach to another Tripod. To do so, the Scientist Tripod and the
intended attachment Tripod must both be within 6 inches of the Sniper Drones for an entire turn. The Scientist Tripod can
do no other activity that turn except the reprogramming, but the attachment tripod behaves as normal.
