Jaisalmer Desert Camping

To groom the youngsters in the field of adventures, aware them about the
rich Indian Heritage: both natural & cultural, Invincible presents one of its unique style
of camping programme in Thar Desert. Here, the young India will explore the barren
land's beauty and landscapes, and will experience the typical Rajasthani culture
through interactions and exploration.
During the winter season, the desert area remains comparatively cooler than
the summer and it creates an appropriate situation to feel and enjoy the real Thar
beauty. The Thar Desert also nicknamed as the Great Indian Desert, is the world's 17th
largest desert. It is divided among the countries India and Pakistan, with the majority
part being in India. It is one of the most populated desert areas amongst the globe.
Proposed Itinerary…
Jaisalmer Desert Trekking Expedition is planned during the months of winter and all
expected batches will follow the below mentioned schedule. The proposed schedule
is subject to change as per the unforeseen conditions/natural calamities.
Note: The camp will depart on previous day evening i.e. if 4 th Jan is shown on our
website, the bus will depart from Ahmedabad on 3rd Jan evening.

Jaisalmer
Jaisalmer is also known as "The Golden City" of India and is one of the largest city of
Rajasthan and it also comprises of the Pakistan border on one of its sides. The town
is the world heritage site and it mainly built of the yellowish sandstone.
The city contains various heritage sites like fort, lake, temples etc. Overall, its desert,
fauna and varied culture makes it an attraction for the world. On the same side the
city is famous for its food, culture and Rajasthani Accent.
Besides this, the fort was built by Bhati Rajput ruler Jaisal, in 1156 at Meru Hills and
named as Trikoot Garh has been site for many wars. The site is very suitable for camel
rides. There are many diversities among flora and fauna.

Kuldhara
Amongst the beauty of this beautiful city, there is also a horror residing among its
boundaries. This is a village which was destroyed 4 centuries ago and it is believed
amongst the locals that the site goes live during full moon which makes it more
interesting place to visit.

Kanoi Camp
Kanoi is a village situated around 30 km from the Jaisalmer city, and around 7 km
from the Sam Sand Dunes. The campsite is to be set up there. Due to its eographical
conditions, the countryside charm and scenic beauty are enjoyable at Kanoi.

Sam Sand Dunes


The perfect example of the desert eco-system situated alongside the town of
Jaisalmer covering large area. The land consists of craggy rock sand compact Salt
Lake bottoms, fixed dunes, etc. There is abundance of bird life in the nearby region
and it also forms site for the migratory birds. Site also contains fossils of plants and
animals of 180 million years old. Also, depictions of dinosaurs are found.
Sudasari
It is a National Desert Park which is located around 14 km from the Sam Sand Dunes.
Black-buck is the common antelope of this region. Alongside with the desert fox, wolf
and desert cat. Birds such as sand grouse, partridges, bee-eaters, larks, and shrikes
are common sights. During winters many foreign species add to the vivid beauty and
charm of the park.

Barana
Barana village is located in the Bhilwara district of Rajasthan, India.The camp is settled
here nearby the village and the joy of camel ride to Khoori desert can be enjoyed
from here, on the other hand it also provides the feel of the typical village life of the
locals residing there. The camp fire on the evening is like the icing on the cake.

How to register?
Online Application
The application can be done online on Invincible NGO’s website:

On successful completion of the online application, 5 Digit Participation ID will be


generated which will be registration confirmation no as well.

Fees Payment
The application is confirmed on receipt of fees payment only.
Registration will be confirmed on First Come, First Serve basis.

There are 2 ways of fees (₹2550/- per head) payment:


1. Online Fees Payment by clicking the Pay Online Button on website
2. Pay at Office in Cash or Cheque

If paid through cheque, please ensure it would be an A/C payee cheque in favour of
Invincible. The fees will be accepted only with the online application Participation ID.
If registered online & not paid the fees before the batch gets full, online application
will be automatically cancelled.

Note: If paid online, convenience fees + service tax is applicable. i.e. around 2.3%

Group Booking/Special Camping


Special batch can be arranged for school/college groups.
The participation fees will be same for such batches and minimum of 30
students/participants are expected. In such cases, individual application is optional
on our website.
Rules & Regulations?
Cancellation & Refund*
On receipt of an application for cancellation, cancellation will be granted by the
Project Manager. The cancellation charges will be as under on the total camp fees…
Cancellation Duration Refund Amount
More than 41 days 90%
Between 21 to 40 days 75%
Between 11 to 20 days 50%
Between 1 to 10 days 25%
*The refund will be sent to participant through an A/C payee cheque only on registered
address.

Discipline
Discipline during the camping duration is must and no case regarding disciplinary
misbehave will be reacted liberally.

Prohibition of Smoking, Tobacco, Alcohol & Drugs


If any participant will be found drunk during these days, inside or outside the
campsite area that will directly lead to cancellation of the participation and no refund
will be paid.
The same procedure will be followed if the participant will be found along with drugs,
smoking items, tobacco or alcohol.

Accommodation
Accommodation in desert area is set in tents, as per 2/4/6 sharing fashion. Boys &
Girls accommodation is separate. In desert area, the nights are extremely cold and
the water facilities are limited. All of them are requested to take a kind note of this
with a view to fluent functioning of the camping & trekking.
