1.0 INTRODUCTION
The Persatuan Pelajar Awam (PPA) organized a program named “Career Fest: Seize
Oppoturnities, Manuever The Irregularities”. This program was held at Faculty Of Civil
Engineering within a day. This program involves about 250 students from last year student
from FKAAS elective class. This program aims to strengthen the relationship between UTHM
students and UTHM management. Apart of that, its helped them to develop the student future
career.
2.0 BACKGROUND
FKAAS Career Fest Career Fest: Seize Opportunities, Maneuever the Irregularities is a re-
branding of Career Carnival which is held annually by FKAAS in line with the university's
aspiration to enhance the FKAAS graduates' specialties and UTHM in general. To prepare
FKAAS students before joining the work interviews that will be encountered after graduation,
several activities have been designed to increase the increment in each FKAAS student. The
current situation and the world economy also require prospective workforce who are competent
in working and possessing various formal and informal skills. This program is a good medium
for exposing students to career realms. Sharing and the latest information from education to
career can help students prepare for life after learning. Students also have the opportunity to
attend resume writing workshops and preparations to attend interviews that will provide
various early exposure to the interview.
3.0 OBJECTIVE
3.1 Disseminate information to students to face up of science and technology conditions as well
as employment needs this century through the agencies involved.
3.2 Create the bonding between government and private agencies with University Tun Hussein
Onn Malaysia to provide further information on the facilities and assistance provided to
students upon graduation.
3.3 Strengthens understanding among students about the necessary preparations to determine
the direction after graduating.
3.4 Provides a path for exploring early relationships between students and industry in the world
of careers.
4.0 PROGRAM SCHEDULE
The talk was given by Prof Dr Afandi Bin Ahmad. He shared his experienced
through working life. Besides of that, he also do a role-play with student to let
students knew about employers’ expectation when they applied any workplace.
For this program, student can see how the employers’ reacts to appoint any to
work with their company.
This program get a good responses from the students and they hope that this program will be
continues for other series and improve the activities so that they can spent their time more than
other program that they have been involved. However, these program totally helps student a
lots to prepare themselves go through the professional work market. In additional, lots
knowledge been shared by the speaker to the students.
Apart of that, the students wished for the programme will be held for a few days not only a
day. And then, do lots of talk so they can learned and explore more about the real-working
life. With that, I believed these programme successfully achieved the objectives and goals for
these program. Wishing for a next will be more interactive and interesting.
