The change in the quality of water brings about a change in the pattern of the Algal flora in the River. Studies on selected Heavy
Metals and Phytoplankton were carried out in Tapi during July 2008 to December 2008. The selected Heavy Metals were Copper,
Zinc, Lead, Cadmium and Nickel. Phytoplankton population was mainly represented by Bacillariophyceae, Chlorophyceae,
Cyanophyceae and Desmids.

Water is one of the important resources. Water is a versatile change in the characteristics of flora and fauna along with
inorganic liquid on this planet occurring as universal solvent heavy metal concentration of water. Moreover pollution, both
and indispensable component of nature. It holds both biotic industrial and domestic waste appears to be real threat to
and abiotic entities, in a complex dynamic and delicate organisms. Therefore, the investigation has been conducted
