Dear Nurse Recruiter,

I am writing to express my interest in the Mother Baby RN position. I was informed of the position
from the career section of your website. I will be graduating in December with my Bachelor of
Science in Nursing from Shenandoah University in Winchester, Virginia. As a new graduate RN, I
am someone eager for experience, learning opportunities from remarkable nurses, and a chance to
grow my skills.

As indicated in my enclosed resume, my clinical rotations exposed me to a wide variety of

opportunities which have allowed me to explore various units in the Winchester, Virginia area. With
this experience, I have increased my nursing skills and critical thinking. This past summer I had the
incredible opportunity to serve as a Nurse Extern on the Women’s Surgical Specialty Unit at
INOVA Fairfax in Falls Church, Virginia. Through that experience I gained more confidence,
enhanced my clinical skills and worked together with the nursing staff to provide safe, quality care.
In my final semester, I have the opportunity to work with my preceptor on a mother
baby/postpartum unit at Winchester Medical Center, where I am utilizing my knowledge, providing
excellent care to a diverse patient population, collaborating with other members of the health care
team and gaining even more confidence in my skills. Through these experiences women’s health has
become my passion in nursing and something I hope I can begin my nursing career with.

Similar to your mission, I believe that nursing is a team and to work as one we need to encourage
and support each other to reach full potential. I feel that every patient should be treated with dignity
and respect and be able to trust the nurse caring for them. Being able to provide care for each
unique patient is such a privilege because I will be able to learn to meet the needs of many different
cultures and values in order to improve the outcomes of health in your hospital. As a nurse at your
hospital, I hope demonstrate love and inspire others to lead lives of service and compassion as I will
through my nursing career.
