Overall aim and context of the lesson

Teach the students new letter, let them recognize the sound and the lower and upper case of it. Also let
them know how to write it.

SWC Lesson Reflection (Completed after EVERY lesson taught)


Select (S):

First I sing with them the good morning song and I ask them about the days of the week, then I told them
that we have new letter, I showed them on the white board how to write the lower and the upper case of
the letter, and I let them imagine that they have a magic pencil and let the write the letter on the air. After
that, I tell them the sound of the letter and show them the action and let them repeat it with me. I show
them some flashcards of things start with letter B and I play a video for them about letter Bb.

Describe (D):

The lesson was for Kindergarten 1 section A students, and the lesson take place in their classroom, I used
the activities areas and the circle time for the lesson. I have a goal for this lesson which I was trying to
achieve it, it was to let the students recognize the sound of the letter and know how to write the upper and
the lower case of it. The students were engaged in the activities, but they were too sleepy and maybe
because the lesson was at 8:00 AM and this is my first time I teach them at 8:00 AM, always I didn’t teach
them this time but it was an experience for me so I can deal with them next time.
Analyze (A):

The students engaged in the activities because they like them but they didn’t engage in the circle time
because they were sleepy. My teaching relate to the students’ prior understanding because they take the
letter at Sunday, some of them were remember the letter and the sound of it also while others were
forgetting it at all. I didn’t engage the students well in the circle time but I tried my best in the activities to
engage them and ask them questions about the letter and the sound of it.

Appraise (A):

The students like the coloring activity the most because it have letter B and a bear on it so they were so
excited to color it, and they were so creative while they color the letter and the bear. Also they like the bee
activity and KG 1 students always like the art activities. My lesson meet my teaching goals because I make
an assessment by using the check list and almost all of them were understanding the letter and the sound,
they just have to had some review on the letter this week and they will recognize it well because this class
students so smart and understand fast.

Transform (T):

I might you enhance student learning of this lesson in the future by make more activities and engage them
in the song of the letter with explaining for them. The implications for my professional practice is to work
on my voice more and raise my voice while explaining the song for them, also to give the students more
clearly instruction for the activities and explain it slowly so they understand.
