Assalamu’alaikum wr.wb.
Good morning the honorable juries.. and good morning everybody..
How are you today?
Best wishes for all of us.
At first, let us pray to Allah, the lord of the world and the merciful who give us health,
so we can meet here to commemorate the Youth Pledge Day 87th. May God is pleased to
keep giving peace, love, and blessings which are abundant for our country. Let us also pray
so that Indonesian youth can continue to evolve in establishing the future of our nation with
hard work, creativity,and spirit of togetherness.
On this occasion, I would like to deliver a speech in commemoration of Youth Pledge Day.
Ladies and gentlemen
Youth Pledge is a moment where the entire youth in Indonesia become a unity. They
pledged an oath on 28th October 1928 in Jakarta. The meeting was attended by
representatives of youth from all over Indonesia with the one determination that is national
unity among the youth. The meeting gave the result namely :
1. We are the young Indonesia, acknowledge one motherland, Indonesia.
2. We are the young Indonesia, acknowledge one nation, the nation of Indonesia.
3. We are the young Indonesia, respect the language of unity, Indonesian language.
Ladies and gentlemen
Commemorating Youth Pledge Day should remind us as young generation to continue
the spirit of unity to defend the independence of Indonesia. Currently, youth have lost the
spirit of unity because of affected by this modern life. Youth are more individualistic.
Moreover, the youth’s attitude now tends to be passive. They don’t want to know about the
development of our country.
Ladies and gentlemen
Where are the youth today? Now, they have been complacent of modern age. They
prefer do the things which don’t have benefits such as having fun and wasting money. Even,
many criminals that arise are done by the youth, they also use drugs. In fact, they must be the
successors of the nation that will run this country in the future.
Ladies and gentlemen
In this Youth Pledge Day, let us re-establish a sense of unity. Let us study more
diligent to be the smart young generation. Youth should be an inspiration to build the nation
in order to improve the quality of competition in the global world. Youth in the global life
would still exist when they show an independence with carrying out their duties and
responbilities.
 Ok that is all my speech. Happy Youth Pledge Day! Thank you very much for your
attention, and if you find many mistakes in my speech, please forgive me.
