accent pillows.
WE’LL GET YOU STARTED WITH PROJECT IDEAS,
PATTERNS AND STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS.
fleur le blue It’s fun to turn a boring seat into a bona fide soft spot with a collection of
stylish accent pillows—but don’t get caught up in the match game. Be sure to do a mix of styles and sizes for interest.
A knitted pillow, like our classic fleur de lis number, is a great way to work some texture into the mix.

1. CHECK UP We didn’t weave this basket-inspired design.
We simply joined a series of individual squares. The key to
keeping up the illusion is in alternating the direction of the
knit. Look closely—the blue stitches go one way and the
white stitches go the other. 2. PIED PIPING For a finished
look, try trimming your hand-knitted pillows with mock
piping. Make one long strip, and then stitch it to the edge
of your completed project. Since it goes on after the pillow
has been constructed and stuffed, it’s easy to add as an
afterthought. 3. BRIT FIT You’re flying your “fit to knit”
flag, and we don’t blame you! You can plot your course
with our free patterns and instructions, see page 6-7. Tip:

If you’re new to knitting, stick to pre-designed patterns.
You’ll have an easier time creating your own charts when you
have some experience under your belt.

conversation peace You have the switching colors thing down to an art,
so it’s time to try your hand at a fun, color-blocked design. We tweaked this look for the tween crowd by adding some
basic peace signs. Tip: Fine lines (especially circles) can be tricky if you’re a newbie. If it seems less daunting, bring a little
peace with a panel of printed fabric instead.
