Amway India is aware of the growing concern amongst

its distributors regarding online sales and has taken
various steps to check sale of products through online
websites. Amway India wants to assure all its distributors
who are building an ethical business that we are
committed to upholding the founders’ principles of
ensuring equal opportunity and level playing field. We
are also committed to help you build a sustainable
business.
With your interests in mind Amway India has taken and
will continue to take various steps to control
unauthorized sales. The Leadership Advisory Council
(LAC) is regularly updated on the various steps being
taken and the progress made in each stream of activity.

• A total of 100 terminations and suspensions have

been issued to distributors indulging in online selling
since February 2018 itself (highest pin Emerald).

• We have sent letters and notices to online companies

such as Amazon, Flipkart and Snapdeal.

• At the request of the Company through Indian Direct Selling

Association (IDSA), the Ministry of Consumer Affairs has sent
letters to various online sales platforms asking them to stop
sales of products of direct selling companies like Amway.

• At the request of the Company through IDSA, the Food

Safety and Standards Authority (FSSA) has advised online
sales platforms to refrain from selling food products of
direct selling companies.

• Raids were conducted for the first time in Amway India’s

history at various shops under a High Court order. Stocks
worth Rs. 1 million were seized and the matter is
currently under consideration by the Hon’ble High Court
of Delhi.

• The Standard Operating Procedure for scanning of

codes has been revised to further improve the scanning
percentage and in the last two month the scanning
percentage has been close to 100%. This will enable
better tracking of products found online or in shops.
• A capital extensive bar-coding project is underway
which will ensure tamper proof coding on all products to
ensure certainty in trackability of products.
• A total of 25 terminations and suspensions have
been issued to distributors indulging in shop selling since
February 2018 itself (highest pin Emerald).

• Interactive sessions were conducted by the Compliance

department in 45 locations between February 2018 and July
2018 and another 45 sessions are planned till 30 November
2018. In these sessions there is a face-to-face interaction
with distributors to listen to the problems faced by them and
to apprise them on the steps being taken by the company
against unauthorized sales and other violations of Rules of
Conduct.

• Leaderships are being published on a regular basis (in

response to feedback from distributors during the interactive
sessions) informing the distributors on the actions (including
suspensions and terminations) being taken against
unauthorized sales.

• Advertorials/Public Notice were published in leading

newspapers across the country with the title “Buy Smart,
Buy Authentic”. Another series will be published shortly.
