PREFACE

An engineering student perceives theoretical knowledge complemented by practical

experience in labs of their technical institutes. But, standing alone theoretical knowledge is
not sufficient for absolute command in any field. So, practical knowledge of the industrial
environment as well as respect for hierarchy is an indispensable basis of being a good
engineer. This is because practical implication of theoretical knowledge in this realised world
promotes learning by experience and improves versatility of application of knowledge
acquired to several extended fields. Practical and theoretical knowledge solidify together to
form a firm structure of knowledge in our mind.

The concept of training has recently become a strategic option in development of human
resource. Consequently, the strategy of development which aims at improving and
simplifying work methods have been greatly required as governmental bodies. The modern
concept states that training, on the basis of practical and theoretical skills, is way that copes
with the latest requirement in the dynamic work field. The effort of training is fundamentally
to channel the construction and innovation efficiency of the trainee in planning and following
up management of resources to achieve the aspired development more effectively, thus
leading to improved performance at work.

To accomplish this aspect Motilal Nehru National Institute of Technology, Allahabad has
included summer practical industrial training for the student of degree.

I accomplished my training at Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited, HERP, Varanasi, with

Training Period: 4 JUNE 2018 to 3 JULY 2018.

Succeeding chapters give details about the organization and during course of my training
from the prestigious organisation.
