THE STATE OF TEXAS § DOCKET # _____________________

§
COUNTY OF GALVESTON § COURT: 10TH DISTRICT COURT

COMPLAINT
{Articles 15.04 & 15.05, Texas Code of Criminal Procedure}

BEFORE ME, THE UNDERSIGNED AUTHORITY, PERSONALLY APPEARED THE

AFFIANT HEREIN, A PEACE OFFICER UNDER THE LAWS OF TEXAS, WHO, BEING
DULY SWORN, ON OATH MADE THE FOLLOWING STATEMENTS AND
ACCUSATIONS:

My name is Joshua O. Ray and I am a commissioned peace officer employed by the Texas
Department of Public Safety as a Texas Ranger. I hereby state upon my oath that I have
reason to believe and do believe that heretofore, and before the making and filing of this
Complaint, that

TIAUNDRA KAE CHRISTON, Date of Birth – 09/22/1997, Black / female, 4’ 11”, 160 lbs,
Texas Driver’s License 38133228, SSN: 640-58-3634

on or about the 23rd day of October 23rd, 2015, in GALVESTON County, Texas, did then and
there, knowing that an investigation was pending to-wit: an investigation into a missing person,
where Hazana Anderson was reported as missing, intentionally and knowingly alter, destroy, or
conceal a human corpse, to-wit: the body of Hazana Anderson, with intent to impair its verity,
legibility, or availability as evidence in the investigation. Texas Penal Code 37.09, Tampering
with physical evidence with intent to impair Human Corpse, against the laws of the State.

My probable cause for said belief and accusation is as follows:

On 10/28/18 at 0921 the College Station Police Department (CSPD) dispatch received a 911
call from Tiaundra Christon, B/F, 09/22/97 reporting that her two year old daughter was missing.
Daughter was identified as Hazana Anderson, B/F, DOB 01/18/17 and was left in a baby stroller
at Gabbard Park located at 1201 S. Dexter College Station, Brazos County. According to CSPD
Sergeant Danny Junek, he was told by CSPD Officer Gary Sutherland that Christon stated she
went to retrieve an item from her vehicle located approximately 600 yards away from the
stroller. Christon told Sutherland that she returned to the area where she left the child and the
stroller was present but the child was missing. The child was not located in the park or the
surrounding area.

Affiant learned from CSPD Detectives Smith and Wilson that several inconsistencies began to
emerge in Christon’s story during the initial interview. For example, Christon reported to
Detectives Smith and Wilson that Anderson had only been unattended for around one minute,
but the child was not found in a reasonable search area to represent a young child’s possible
travel in that short period of time. The location where Christon indicated Anderson had been last
seen was very close to a small body of water (a fishing pond located within the park), the most
obvious hazard in the area. However, there were two witnesses fishing at the shore who
according to CPSD Investigator Christian Lovelace did not hear or see a child at all, and did not
hear any noises that might be associated with a child going into the water, despite the fact that
they were very close to Anderson’s last known location.

During a canvas search of the area around the park Trooper Erik Zani located a toy doll found
inside a trash can located in the 1200 block of S. Dexter which was in close proximity to
Christon’s vehicle. This was communicated to Affiant by Zani. Zani told Affiant that the toy baby
doll was found inside a large black women’s handbag. Zani told Affiant that the doll was dressed
in children’s clothing that matched the clothing description provided by Christon at the time of
the missing person call. According Detectives Wilson and Smith, Christon confirmed that the
clothes on the doll belonged to Anderson, but she did not have knowledge of how the clothes
were placed on the dolls. Christon was subsequently arrested for false report and
abandoning/endangering a child in Brazos County.

During the investigation into Anderson’s disappearance, CSPD Detective Jared Cleere stated to
Affiant that he conducted a forensic search of Christon’s cellular telephone and learned that
Christon communicated frequently with Kenny D’Shawn Hewett, a man Christon described as
boyfriend or fiancé. Cleere stated Christon had text messages and phone calls with Hewett
using two phone numbers. During a non-custodial interview with Hewett, he told Detective
Wilson and Affiant that he had stayed at the Downtowner Inns & Suites located at 7117 Monroe
Road in Houston, TX with Christon and Anderson. According to Hotel records obtained by
CSPD Detective Payne, Payne determined that Hewett checked into room #209 on 10/17/18 at
6:55 PM and checked out on 10/20/18 at 10:08 AM. According to Detective Cleere, cell phone
records for Hewitt and Christon also support that they were both in the Houston area during that
time.

Christon later told Detective Wilson and Affiant that the child had left the hotel room with Hewett
on the evening of 10/19/18 to go to Taco Cabana for food. Christon told Affiant they returned
approximately 30 minutes later and that Anderson was crying. She told Detective Wilson,
Hewett was violently hitting Anderson with a belt causing whelps to her legs, arms, and face.
According to Detective Wilson, Christon stated Hewett was upset and told her to discipline her
child, so she then hit Anderson a couple of times with the belt. According to Detective Wilson,
Christon described Hewett as not being satisfied on how she hit Anderson, so he took the belt
and began hitting Anderson again with the belt. Christon told Detective Wilson that Anderson
began to go in and out of consciousness so Christon and Hewett took Anderson to the
bathroom. Christon told Detective Wilson that they took Anderson’s clothes off and put her in
the bath tub to run water on her face in an attempt to revive her. According to Detective Wilson,
Christon stated that Anderson then lost consciousness, but felt that she had a pulse. Christon
told Detective Wilson as she was removing Anderson from the bath tub, she noticed that
Anderson’s anus was open very wide and questioned why her anus would do this. Christon told
Detective Wilson and Affiant they later discovered Anderson was deceased. Christon told
Detective Wilson and Affiant, Anderson was cold to the touch and stated that they used the hair
dryer to attempt to warm her up. Christon told Detective Wilson and Affiant that while doing so,
the hair dryer began burning Anderson’s skin, and Anderson was unresponsive.
Christon told Affiant and Detective Wilson she kept Anderson’s corpse in her vehicle back
passenger side floorboard for three days. Christon told Affiant she placed Anderson’s body in a
plastic trash bag. Christon told Affiant on 10/23/2018, she and Hewett drove to an unknown
location near a body of water to dispose of the body. Christon told Affiant Hewett assisted her
by wrapping the bag and corpse in a rope and attaching a heavy rock. Christon told Affiant she
tossed the corpse in a body of water. Christon agreed to take investigators to the location that
Christon and Hewett disposed of Anderson’s corpse.

On 10/31/2018, Christon led Affiant to an approximate location of Latitude 29.42093 N and

Longitude -94.96166 W near Moses Bayou and SH 146 in Galveston County. Affiant observed
divers from the Galveston County Sheriff’s Office recover the corpse of a young child matching
the description provided by Christon to Affiant. On the same date, Hewett was located and
voluntarily consented to a noncustodial interview conducted by Detective Wilson and Bryan PD
Detctive Shawn Davis. Hewett told Wilson and Davis, he was involved in the disposal of
Anderson’s corpse and provided many of the same details as Christon provided Affiant and
Detective Wilson. According to Detectives Wilson and Davis, following the interview with
Hewett, he directed Wilson and Davis to the location in Galveston County where he and
Christon disposed of Anderson’s Corpse. This was the exact same location Christon had
directed Affiant to.
