I am excited to see your opening for a position in the Cardiac Care Unit at Winchester Medical
Center. This position corresponds perfectly with my curriculum at Shenandoah University. While I
am clinically inclined in the Cardiac Care Unit, I am flexible to other ICU specialties.

Currently, I am completing my preceptorship in the Cardiac Care Unit at Winchester Medical Center
and it has served to solidify my desire to work in the Intensive Care Unit. While caring for critically
ill patients, I have become clinically competent in managing life threatening situations, administering
medications, and maintaining equipment functionality. I am also experienced in complex
assessments, preparing patients for procedures, and ensuring advanced life support. These skills are
just a few of the many tasks I have performed. I aim to provide a superior level of compassionate
patient care and service.

In addition to my clinical experience, I possess strong leadership initiative, extracurricular service-

oriented involvement, and organizational skills. As a nursing tutor, I collaborated with many diverse
students to help increase student performance and retention. This also allowed me to broaden my
knowledge and demonstrate strong leadership qualities.

The Cardiac Care Unit provides an excellent opportunity to advance my nursing skills and provides
a collection of challenges that will be influential in developing me into an excellent critical care
