INTRODUCTION

INTRODUCTION

This document provides a description of all aspects associated with the release of CPM810 Firmware Revision 5.0.2.11. This firmware is to be used with all three 800 Series Turbine Modules: AS800, TP800, and VP800.

1.1 Executive Summary

Rev 5.0.2.11 is now the new official firmware for the 800 Series Turbine Modules utilizing the non-condensed Profibus interface. This new firmware will require the use of the latest GSD or HWD files (Rev 5.0.2.11) as well as a recent boot loader (Rev 5.0.2 or Rev 5.0.2.2).

It is highly recommended that all existing customers using the non-condensed Profibus interface upgrade their firmware to 5.0.2.11.

Any existing customers running firmware versions preceding 5.0.2.11 at their plant and receiving a new CPM810 module from ABB (replacement) should upload the firmware revision in use at their facility into this new module to ensure compatibility with the existing ones running the older firmware revision. As previously mentioned, if possible, the recommended action would be to upgrade all modules to 5.0.2.11.

FUNCTIONALITY

1.4

Restrictions

Firmware Revision 5.0.2.11 contains sufficient differences from previous firmware revisions that recommend that it not coexist in a same system with previous firmware revisions. When installing a new CPM810 in the system, it is recommended that all other CPM810’s be upgraded to firmware 5.0.2.11. If this is not possible, the firmware of the new CPM810 should be overwritten with the previous revision.

VP800 redundancy and TP800 standalone mode require revision 2.0 of the TBU810. Non-redundant VP800, non- standalone TP800, and all AS800 applications may use revision A.

TP800 standalone mode requires revision 3.0 or later of the TPM810 module.

1.4.1

Software

Firmware revision 5.0.2.11 requires the use of boot loader Rev 5.0.2.2 for all three turbine modules VP800, TP800, and AS800 as well as either GSD or Hardware Definition file Rev 5.0.2.11 for each of the three modules.

1.4.2

Hardware

CPM810 firmware revision 5.0.2.11 is compatible with CPM810 hardware revisions A and 2.0.

FUNCTIONALITY

2.1 New Development / Enhancements / Corrections

VP800 Scope

Corrections:

o

Corrected dual LVDT mode calibration to get the pilot valve values after waiting for it to reach the stop.

o

Added check for bad calibration values from controller during redundant start up.

o

Added check for all 0 input buffer, which is ignored.

o

Fixed initial LED states for DC LVDT.

o

Corrected retrieval of Backup's calibration values at end of calibration.

o

Eliminated the bumps at the stops during calibration.

Adjustments:

o

Changed the delay before another failover can occur from 15 s to 1 min.

o

Added a delay after a new flow demand before attempting to process a new flow demand.

o

Switched the delay after becoming Primary to wait before checking for LVDT errors to be a flag controlled by a task.

o

Removed LVDT error checking from Backup operation.

o

Added wait until the new input is processed before recovering from loss of communication.

o

Changed ProfibusInput task time from 1 ms to 2 ms to stop overruns.

o

Eliminated module failover during calibration, replacing it with a module handshake to handle backup calibration.

o

Made adjustments to the failover process to improve its operation.
