1. SUMMARY

FUNCTIONAL LIAISON Engineering, Maintenance and Operation staff

To oversee static and piping engineering developments

MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB
during the detail design & construction phases of any new
modifications and review it’s related documents in
accordance with the client’s specifications and design codes
and standards including:

 Develops and analyzes the technical documents

(specifications, calculation notes, drawings, etc.) in
order to assess the scope of the studies required
and the potential risks.
 Checks all produced documents (internal or
subcontracted) like design reports, technical
specifications, drawings etc. under his
responsibility.
 Writes the Piping and Layout methodologies /
Design Premises comprehensive of all necessary
data, general and specific design guidelines (the
technical roadmap for the discipline engineering
activities).
 Monitors and reports actual progress including 3D /
check for Discipline activities, including control of
men-hours and delivered documents; particular
care is required for sub-contracted activities.
 Provides technical support to Project group.
 Provides technical support to Procurement,
Subcontracting and Construction activities included
in the scope of work.
 Supervises the writing of specifications and
requisitions as well as technical bid evaluations.

3. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Responsibility 1 Maintain a safe working environment

Task 1.1 Ensure his working environment is maintained in a safe state

Task 1.2 Be aware of and follow company procedures regarding fire drills, health and safety
inspections.

Task 1.3 Ensure any visitors are properly supervised and follow safety procedures while on
company property.

Task 1.4 Ensure the reporting of accidents and infectious diseases as required by company
procedure.

Task 1.5 Follow recommended practice in regard to visual display equipment and keyboard use, to
avoid potential problems.

Responsibility 2 Provides mechanical engineering support for the design and construction in any
new approaches for refinery and off-sites including:

Task 2.1 Provide static equipment and piping expertise to the project from detailed engineering,
procurement, installation phases.
Task 2.2 Safeguard company technical & contractual interests with respect to all static and piping
engineering and procurement activities.
Task 2.3 Working with the detailed design & procurement contractor to ensure that project, company, and
group engineering standards are intelligently applied and adhered to by reviewing the technical
specification and other engineering documents and drawings prepared by detailed design &
procurement contractor.
Task 2.4 Participate in all key design, operability and maintainability reviews (design review, HAZOP,
PDMS model reviews, and mechanical handling study etc.) And ensure timely close out of all
review action items related to mechanical engineering.
Task 2.5 Review and approve technical specification during detailed design & procurement contract.
Ensure that the engineering and operations & maintenance aspects of the project requirements
are reflected in the detailed design & procurement contract enquiry specification.
Task 2.6 Perform periodic/frequent short visits to project construction sites during the design, construction
and commissioning phases to provide support.
Task 2.7 Focus on enabling the asset teams to meet their business objectives and further promote
improvement in production and cost performance.
Task 2.8 Functioned as a Stress Analyst with the modeling and analysis of piping systems for thermal,
weight, and seismic conditions for the Project

Task 3.1 Providing vital inputs to daily and periodic project progress and status reports to top

management and other stakeholder.
