Dear Families,

On ​Monday, November 19th, 2018​​ the fifth grade will be going on a field trip to
Colonial Williamsburg. We will be leaving Broadus Wood at 8:15 so that students
can take their regular mode of transportation to school.

Itinerary​:
8:15 AM- Buses depart from Broadus Wood
10:45 AM- Buses arrive at Colonial Williamsburg
10:45-1:30 PM- Student groups investigate areas of interest
(Eat lunch along the way when it is convenient for your group.)
1:30-1:45 PM- Gather for guided tour
1:45-4:30 PM- Guided tour
4:40 PM- Board buses and depart Colonial Williamsburg
(We will stop for dinner on the way out of town.)
8:00 PM- Arrive at Broadus Wood

Each student should bring a bagged lunch and some snacks. We will be stopping for
dinner on the way back. If you would like your child to purchase their dinner,
please send $6-$10 with your child on the day of the trip. If you would prefer that
your child not purchase their dinner, please send extra food that he/she can carry in
his/her backpack. ​Please be at the school at 8:00 PM to pick up your child after
the trip.

If you are interested in coming along as a chaperone, we would love to have you join
us! Please note that seating on the bus will be very limited and we may need to ask
some chaperones to drive separately.

Please fill out the attached form and return it to your child’s teacher by
Thursday, November 15th. The fee for students and chaperones is $9.50.
Make checks payable to Broadus Wood Elementary School. Please indicate
below if you would like to request a scholarship for your student.

Thank you to the BWES PTO for covering the cost of the charter buses for this field
