Figure 1: first respondent Mr. Eljan

Our first respondent is Mr. Eljan, a twenty-seven years old man. Mr. Eljan said that
even he just a worker there he knows everything about the business because he has
been working there for years. The type of marine resources Mr. Eljan sell are from
shellfish types which are crabs and shells. He told us the most popular between the
two marine resources are the crabs but the shells also no less popular because certain
people like eating shells. From our observation the price of crabs sell are not the same,
the price of the crabs depends on the size of the crabs but Mr. Eljan said that not only
the size of the crabs affect the price but also the quality of the crabs. There is RM20
per kilo and RM30 per kilo depending on the size and quality of the crabs. For 1kg of
the shells he sell for RM10

Mr. Eljan said that the income they get is not constant since there is time where many
customers come to buy his marine resources and there also time only a few customers
come. In this business how to attract the customer is important he said. In a day
Mister Eljan can sell from 30kg to 70kg of his marine resources but there is also days
where he sell less than 30kg. From the selling, in average he get RM1000 in a day
roughly. In a month, he sell around 1000kg of his marine resources and the net
income he get is around RM4000. So annually the net income estimated is RM48,000
with 20,000kg marine resources sold.
