 Internal recruitment takes place when staff within the organisation are invited to apply for a
position in the company while external recruitment occurs when candidates outside the
organisation are invited through advertisements to fill a position in the company.
 The advantages of internal recruitment are: staff promotion and development, steep staff
learning curve due to shorter time for orientation and training while for external the major
advantage is new people bring in new ideas, skills and knowledge.
 The demerits of internal recruitment is lack of required level of creativity and innovation.
With external recruitment, the disadvantages may be resentments, gentle learning curves
i.ee long time to adapt to the environment and expensive procedure.

 The practice of addressing and supporting multiple lifestyles and personal characteristics
within a defined group (www.skillsportal.co.za).
 The possible advantages of diversity management
o Increased productivity
o Attraction and retention of talents
o Increased creativity and problem solving
o Enhanced inclusiveness
o Higher levels of trust and motivation

Processes involved in the project time management include:


Define Activities: identify specific actions that need to be performed to produce project
deliverables
Sequence Activities: Identify and document relationships among project activities using
logical relationships
Estimate Activity Durations and Resources: predict the time needed to satisfactorily
complete each activity and estimate the type and quantities of material, people,
equipment, or supplies required to perform each activity.
Develop Schedule: Determine the start and end dates for each project activity and the
entire project.
Control Schedule: Maintain the project schedule so that there is no project overrun.

The critical path is the path with the longest duration and is B-D-E which is 23 days
