I. OBJECTIVES
At the end of the lesson, the students are expected to:
Identify the dynamics symbols used in a song;
Demonstrate understanding of the concept of dynamics through singing; and
Apply the appropriate dynamic levels in singing.
III. PROCEDURE
A. Opening Song
Listen to the song “Sa Ugoy ng Duyan”
What did you feel while listening to the song?
What is your favorite song, what feeling/expression best describes it?
B. Drills
Vocalization in the scale of C with dynamics: crescendo & decrescendo
C. Lesson Proper
1. Motivation: Listen to the song “Bayan Ko”
“Bayan Ko” is a song originally written as a poem in Spanish by General Alejandrino during the American
Colonization. It was later translated to Tagalog by Jose Corazon de Jesus and the music was composed
by Constancio de Guzman. This song became popular during the Marcos regime. The song represents
our country in the state of being enslaved and often sung as a sign of protest.
2. Present the charted song, point to the dynamic marks

3. Dynamics is a musical element that refers to the loudness and softness of sound. It indicates the
intensity of the sound/ music that needs to be performed. Different dynamic levels suggest different
emotions. Loud sound suggests tension or emphasis. Soft sound shows calmness and a mellow
feeling. Crescendo invariably produces a climactic effect. Decrescendo produces a feeling of repose.
D. Application:
Sing the song “Bayan Ko” following the dynamic marks.
E. Generalization
What is dynamics in music? Dynamics is a musical element that refers to the loudness and softness of
sound. It indicates the intensity of the sound/music that needs to be performed.
