PENGANTAR APLIKASI KOMPUTER

PENGERTIAN / DEFINISI
Komputer berasal dari bahasa latin computare yang mengandung arti menghitung .
Karena luasnya bidang garapan Ilmu Komputer, ada beberapa definisi komputer menurut
para pakar dan peneliti :
Menurut Hamacher, komputer adalah mesin penghitung elektronik yang cepat dan dapat
menerima informasi input digital, kemudian memprosesnya sesuai dengan program yang
tersimpan di memorinya, dan menghasilkan output berupa informasi.
Menurut Blissmer, komputer adalah suatu alat elektonik yang mampu melakukan beberapa
tugas sebagai berikut:
menerima input
memproses input tadi sesuai dengan programnya
menyimpan perintah-perintah dan hasil dari pengolahan
menyediakan output dalam bentuk informasi .
Sedangkan Fuori berpendapat bahwa komputer adalah suatu pemroses data yang dapat
melakukan perhitungan besar secara cepat, termasuk perhitungan aritmetika dan operasi
logika, tanpa campur tangan dari manusia.
COMPUTER SYSTEM
Sistem Komputer
Adalah : Suatu jaringan elektronik yang terdiri dari perangkat lunak dan perangkat
keras yang melakukan tugas tertentu (menerima input, memproses input, menyimpan
perintah-perintah, dan menyediakan output dalam bentuk informasi).
Selain itu dapat pula diartikan sebagai elemen-elemen yang terkait untuk menjalankan suatu
aktivitas dengan menggunakan komputer.

Komputer dapat membantu manusia dalam pekerjaan sehari-harinya, pekerjaan itu seperti:
pengolahan kata, pengolahan angka, dan pengolahan gambar.
Elemen dari sistem komputer terdiri dari manusianya (brainware), perangkat lunak
(software), set instruksi (instruction set), dan perangkat keras (hardware).
Dengan demikian komponen tersebut merupakan elemen yang terlibat dalam suatu sistem
komputer. Tentu saja hardware tidak berarti apa-apa jika tidak ada salah satu dari dua lainnya
(software dan brainware).
Perangkat Keras (Hardware)
peralatan yang secara fisik terlihat dan bisa dijamah .
Processor
Merupakan bagian dari perangkat keras komputer yang melakukan pemrosesan aritmatika
dan logika serta pengendalian operasi komputer secara keseluruhan
Memory
Merupakan bagian dari perangkat keras komputer yang digunakan untuk menyimpan data.
I/O Device
Merupakan bagian yang berfungsi sebagai penghubung antara komputer dengan lingkungan
di luarnya.
Perangkat Lunak (Software)
program yang berisi instruksi/perintah untuk melakukan pengolahan data .
Sistem Operasi
merupakan perangkat lunak yang mengoperasikan komputer serta menyediakan antarmuka
dengan perangkat lunak lain atau dengan pengguna.
Utilitas
merupakan program khusus yang berfungsi sebagai perangkat pemeliharaan komputer,
seperti anti virus, partisi hardisk, manajemen hardisk, dll .
Aplikasi Khusus
Merupakan program yang dikembangkan untuk memenuhi kebutuhan yang spesifik .
Aplikasi Paket
merupakan program yang dikembangkan untuk kebutuhan umum

Bahasa Pemrograman
merupakan perangkat lunak untuk pembuatan atau pengembangan perangkat lunak lain .
Manusia (Brainware)
Yang mengoperasikan dan mengendalikan sistem komputer .

DEFINITION
Computers come from Latin computare which means counting.
Because of the vastness of the field of Computer Science, there are several computer
definitions according to experts and researchers:
According to Hamacher, a computer is an electronic calculating machine that is fast and can
receive digital input information, then processes it according to the program stored in its
memory, and produces output in the form of information.
According to Blissmer, a computer is an electronic device capable of carrying out the
following tasks:

save orders and results from processing
provide output in the form of information.
While Fuori argues that computers are data processors that can perform large calculations
quickly, including arithmetic calculations and logical operations, without interference from
humans.

information).
