 Chapter 1
Overview

Forms are a means of enabling end users to view and modify repository data from their web browsers.
Forms Builder is an interactive tool that allows you to create and modify form definitions, called
templates, and store them in a repository. Forms Builder functions as a layout tool for TaskSpace.
Templates define relationships between the following elements:
• The user interface (UI) model, which specifies the items users see on the form and how they look.
• The data model, which defines the types and interrelationships of the data items that store the
information that the form accepts or displays.
Forms Builder provides a graphical user interface to enable you to define the relationships between
the UI and data models. Once you have installed a template, web development kit (WDK)-based
applications, such as Webtop or TaskSpace, can use the form.
The forms runtime, a component of the WDK, enables WDK-based applications to create form
instances based on your templates. Form users use these instances to view or modify repository data.
More information about the forms runtime is available in the WDK documentation.
The EMC Documentum Forms Builder 6.7 SP2 Release Notes contains customer-reported bug fixes
and platform compatibility updates. This document also includes a list of fixed problems, known
problems and limitations.

This section highlights the major functionality changes included in this release. Refer to the product
documentation for complete information about these features.

Features and Updates in Service Pack 2

There are no new features or changes to features included in this release. This maintenance release
includes only product bug fixes.

Features and Updates in Service Pack 1

Forms Builder 6.7 SP1 is a maintenance release that contains bug fixes and platform compatibility
updates. Service Packs provide the latest fixes for the software. Ensure that you have the most reliable
and compatible system by always installing the most current Service Pack.
This release of Forms Builder consists only of bug fixes; there are no changes.

Features and Updates in the Base Release

This section describes the following new features and changes for Forms Builder 6.7:

Application Usage Tracking

Documentum Content Server tracks software usage by recording login times. The Content Server
global registry contains a record of the first and the latest login time for each user of each application

that connects to Content Server. Content Server periodically generates basic reports to indicate
usage. These reports are available to the Content Server administrator. In addition, EMC provides
a complimentary virtual appliance, EMC Asset Management and Planning (AMP), that can
produce more detailed reports about EMC software usage. The EMC Documentum Content Server
Administration and Configuration Guide contains more information about usage tracking reports.

Column Sorting in Attachment Control

Forms Builder now allows you to configure how an attachment control appears in form instances
in web development kit (WDK)-based applications, such as TaskSpace and Webtop. TaskSpace and
Webtop users can sort attachments in the form instance by clicking the columns in the table that
lists the attachments.
This feature is documented in the "Editing Templates” chapter in the Documentum Forms Builder
User Guide.

Number Formatting
Forms Builder now allows you to specify a currency symbol, thousands separator, and decimal
symbol for numerical column data in a form instance.
This feature is documented in the "Editing Templates” chapter in the Documentum Forms Builder
User Guide.

Configurable Position of Grid Navigation Controls

You can now configure the alignment of the grid navigation controls in TaskSpace by specifying the
alignment in the TaskSpace app.xml file.
This feature is documented in the Documentum TaskSpace Deployment Guide.

Fixed Issues

This section identifies issues that have been resolved in this release.
Service Packs are cumulative. The current release contains fixes from all previous Service Packs
and Patches.

Issue Number Description
FRM-5546 When you copy some formatted text from Microsoft Word 2007 to the Rich
Text Control in Internet Explorer 8, some of the text is being duplicated.
FRM-5531 When you add a Read only table with input in Forms Builder, and then
add a Data Item and delete the Data Item, during runtime, this adaptor
does not work.
FRM-5518 The task component which has an embedded form with a document view
and a folder content view in it cannot be loaded completely.
FRM-5455 The adapter whose input is a Datetime control does not work when time
field is changed.
FRM-5448 In Search tab the Integer column displays ".0" appended to the end of the
value.
FRM-5410 When the document validator fails, the HTML source code of customized
error message is displayed directly.
FRM-5404 Read Only table control does not support column width setting during
runtime.
FRM-5388 While editing the Rich Text control, you will be able to click the link in Rich
Text control.
FRM-5364 In the Task and Init Process without Forms component bound to them,
when you open an attached form instance with a Rich Text control in it, the
color chooser for Text Color and Highlight action in the toolbar of Rich Text
control is shown at wrong position.
FRM-5359 The performance issue occurs while saving an embedded form in a Task
component.

Issue Number Description

FRM-5346 The package control for optional process package in Initiate Process and
Task components cannot set the required property.
FRM-5308 The column width is still fixed as 32 characters in My Folder tab even though
"Column Width" is set to "Automatic" in Forms Builder.
FRM-5304 There are some required Text Fields without any values entered; when
you submit the form instance, the required Text Fields are invalidated
and highlighted in RED border. However, after entering the values in
these invalidated required Text Fields, the highlighted red border will not
immediately disappear even after the Text Fields lose focus.
FRM-5272 When you select more than one task in a queue list, the Get Task action is
displayed in the context menu. However, this action should be disabled
for multiple selected tasks.
FRM-5268 When you load a Search component for the first time in TaskSpace, a Java
Null Pointer Exception occurs.
FRM-5265 The AutoFit column displays only 32 characters in Task List component, but
the client wants to display all the text, not limited to 32 characters.
FRM-5261 When a user has no write permission on the process variables in TaskSpace,
there is no error message shown in Task component.
FRM-5258 When you type ’$’ in Search form and search for it, a Java Script error occurs.
FRM-5233 When you change the value which is the input parameter of an Invoke
button at runtime, it will trigger an inline validation for the Invoke button,
but the client wants to disable the inline validation.
FRM-5229 When users press the Cancel button, the following message is displayed on
Folder View forms: yyMSG_CONFIRM_UNSAVED_MESSAGEyy
FRM-5223 When you create a form template based on a custom type which has more
than 450 attributes in Forms Builder, a DQL parse error will occur.
FRM-5192 The value is duplicated at runtime if the form template has two same named
data controls and one data control which is directly under the root data
control is mapped to an object attribute in XML application.
FRM-5190 When you create a form instance based on the form template which has
already million form instances created based on it, a performance issue
occurs.
FRM-5187 When you navigate to other page in Search form, the search DQL query
will execute every time.
FRM-5183 When you set the Read Only and hidden rule to a box in which there is an
embedded form, at runtime, the validation in the embedded form is still
validated even if the box is Read Only and hidden.
FRM-5139 The folder view does not display in the default unselected tab of the tab
group control in a task component.
FRM-5135 When you import a document which is binded to a document view
component, the DM_API_E_BADID error occurs.

FRM-5121 There are two Read Only table controls A and B. If the name of A is a part of
the name of B, then the paging input box and items per page dropdown list
of B does not work.
FRM-5117 When you set the initial focus to a drop down list control, by default this
control cannot get the focus at runtime.
FRM-5110 When you click Search button in a Search Tab that has many qualifications
and scroll down the vertical bar, you cannot see the result.
FRM-5102 When you add two forms as package for a workflow template, one form has
a table control with date time control as its first column and while the other
form has a table control with text field control as its first column, then an
IllegalArgumentException occurs at runtime after starting the workflow and
switching the two form packages.
FRM-5098 In the second tab of a Tab Group control In Task component, an Embedded
Form contains the required field and also its object name is copied from
process data mapping activity. When you do not switch to second tab and
close/finish this task, the validation error does not occur.
FRM-5082 The validation error occurs, when you close or accept a task which has
a required field.
FRM-5067 When you set digital columns label to a space character in Task-List
component and then select "No Text Label" and one icon in the conditional
setting, the first row does not display the icon at runtime.
FRM-5063 In Task component, you cannot copy the value of a field in an embedded
form to a process variable correctly.
FRM-5057 When you change the sequence of columns in the Task Attachment control,
at runtime, the columns do not display with the correct sequence.
FRM-5039 The data is duplicated if the name of elements in XML application
configuration is same.
FRM-5018 The rule in an Embedded Form does not work after changing the values of
a multiple List-box control in Task component.
FRM-4973 When you configure an input field as the input parameter for both Invoke
button and On-Change set value adaptor, then the set value adaptor executes
twice after changing the input value at runtime.
FRM-4961 In Task component in the Tab 2 of a Tab Group control, there is an Embedded
Form which has a Table control. When you change the value of the control at
runtime in this Table control, the rule on this embedded form runs correctly,
but when you switch to Tab 1 and switch back to Tab 2, the rule in the
Embedded Form does not work correctly.
FRM-4957 When you click Invoke button that has a Search Selector, then the output
which is bound to a Boolean attribute results validation error.
FRM-4938 If you change "medium" to "short" in the WDK\config\datetimecontrol_
config.xml file, a validation error occurs when you click the calendar to set
value to Date Field or Date Time Field at runtime.

FRM-4933 The Add link in the multiple attachment control does not work completely
at runtime.
FRM-4926 The Search component cannot work correctly when the string typed search
parameter contains the characters like "2007-09-03".
FRM-4918 When you configure the default HiFi docview in Task component to show
Embedded Form and add two Embedded Forms in different tabs of a tab
group, then after navigating to the second tab at runtime, the doc viewer is
reduced in size.
FRM-4905 The Search component cannot return the result correctly in TaskSpace when
the DQL query has uppercase characters and contains UNION.
FRM-4902 Import two documents in the Attachment2 control at runtime and also
import another two documents in the Attachment1 control, then in the
Attachment1 control there are the two documents same with the same
Attachment1 control.
FRM-4864 When you set a Date control with a JDBC data source adaptor which returns
a time attribute of an object in the repository while the output item type is
date, you will get a validation error at runtime.
FRM-4839 The column label of Task Attachment control displays incorrectly in a Task
component in TaskSpace.
FRM-4836 When you change the data value which is bound to the Image Viewer
control by the r_object_id of a different format object in the repository,
then the Document Viewer component cannot update the viewer which is
configured for different format object after it is reopened.
FRM-4832 When you set an attachment control in an embedded form in a task
component, you cannot remove the attached object.
FRM-4816 When you have control with same name in both Task component and an
Embedded form, the rule based on the control does not work in the task
component.
FRM-4807 When you type a date value with lower case month, a validation error occurs
when you save the form instance.
FRM-4803 When you set a Date control with a data source adaptor which returns a
time attribute of an object in the repository while the output item type is
date, you will get a validation error at runtime.
FRM-4799 In the folder view control of a task component, by default the first object is
always selected.
FRM-4797 When you check out the attached document in a Task component and switch
to Comments tab, an error occurs when you switch back to Info tab.
FRM-4791 There is no vertical scrollbar in the folder view control in a task component
at runtime.
FRM-4786 Event.js exception is thrown while performing Search operation using
search template which is configured with custom adaptor to validate the
input in text control of TaskSpace.

FRM-4778 When you create an action with the selector which uses a Search component
with a Tab Group control in it, at runtime switching the tab of the Tab Group
control does not work in the Search component which is opened by an
invoke button with setting the action.
FRM-4768 The horizontal and vertical scrollbar of a list box cannot be displayed when
there is long value added.
FRM-4753 The Paste button in a Rich Text Control does not work at runtime.
FRM-4748 The Process data values are not saved, when invisible package associated
with an activity in taskform. This is same as BPM-6949.
FRM-4730 You have one Rich Text control in Tab1 and another one in Tab 2. When you
navigate to Tab 2 you cannot input values in the Rich Text control.
FRM-4720 When you try to view a folder attached to an Attachment control, you
cannot open this folder in TaskSpace.
FRM-4699 When users set an adaptor with same name for parent group and child
item in a form template, an error occurs during runtime after creating the
form instance.
FRM-4694 When users set an adaptor that has an incorrect output item name in a form
template, at runtime there is an error after creating the form instance.
FRM-4683 When users unselect the options "Insert table", "Image" or "Link" in the
special tab of a Rich Text Control, at runtime the context menu does not
display after you right click in this control.
FRM-4675 When you check-out and check-in the package form attached to the process
with new version after opening the Task component, an error occurs. Hence,
you cannot save the Embedded Form in the Task component.
FRM-4668 The AutoFit column displays only 32 characters in Search component, but
the client wants to display all the text, not limited to 32 characters.
FRM-4656 When you view a folder attached to an attachment control, you can open the
attached folder in Webtop but cannot return to original form instance. And
in TaskSpace, the attached folder cannot be opened.
FRM-4638 When a user adds a filter using the variable "Filter Type" and the condition
"Not Equal to" in a Task List component, the filter does not take any effect.
FRM-4634 When a user uses a custom date format that includes "EEE", the Date Field
control value displays incorrectly, after picking up a date in the popup
calendar.
FRM-4622 When a user double-clicks a task that is associated with an embedded form
and the user also does not have access permission on the attached document,
the task is blank white with a Java script error.
FRM-4563 When the Rich Text control is hidden and exposed again, you cannot input
values in it based on context rule.
FRM-4545 When user clicks the Accept button in a Task, the Add and Remove buttons
in an attachment control are still not available.

FRM-4511 When there are various search qualifications, the scroll bar is missing in
the Search tab.
FRM-4482 When you click Edit Source, specify a value in the Rich HTML editor, submit
or save the form, and reopen it, the value specified in the Rich HTML editor
is not displayed.
FRM-4439 When you start a process as a package with a document that has no format
specified, the task that contains docview component does not load.
FRM-4432 You can finish the task although the attached form contains mandatory
fields which are invalid.
FRM-4416 When a user copies some formatting texts (such as bold or italic) in a Rich
Text control and saves the form instance, these texts become duplicated.
FRM-4402 When you check out a Folder Information component in Forms Builder and
save it, the dialog "XML configuration file version mismatch" appears.
FRM-4400 When you disable search, by default or by rule, the search is executed when
you press Enter.
FRM-4383 When you login to Taskpace with a long username, start process, and add
plenty of comments, the width of comments field becomes small in the task
view.
FRM-4304 When you enter only spaces (not text/characters) in series to form a line in
the Rich HTML Editor of a form instance and save it, the spaces are lost
when you reload the form instance.
FRM-3434 You cannot see the values of the SDT repeat attributes as columns in Process
Instance List.
FRM-1941 When a user creates a Table in Rich Text Control, an error message occurs.
FRM-1638 There is a Read Only table that has a set value adaptor and a field control as
input. When you change the input value, an error message occurs.
FRM-1560 The embedded form isn’t submitted when another embedded form failed to
pass the submission validation in Task component.

FRM-4397 When you execute a workflow that uses Process Data Mapping
activity to update a High Fidelity Form instance, the temp files such as
odtSOME_NUMBER.odt and content.xmlSOME_OTHER_NUMBER.xml
are not removed.
FRM-4283 In the Task view, an error occurs after you close and finish a task with an
attached form instance, which has rules on both the default Button Group
and Save button.

FRM-4263 The Date Field displays an incorrect value when the client time zone is
different from the application server’s time zone.
FRM-4250 When you clear the required field in the embedded form instance, and click
the Comment tab and then click Finish, it is seen that this task is completed
without an error message.
FRM-4205 When you click Calculate several times in a form instance, the vertical scroll
bar does not function smoothly.
FRM-4200 You cannot insert a row between two existing rows on a form migrated from
a version 5.3 environment.
FRM-4183 In a High Fidelity form template that contains several pages, when you add
a control in the second page or later and set the default rule as hidden, the
control is not hidden by default in that page.
FRM-4177 When the constraint on the maximum string length in a field control is
30, and you enter 16 double-byte characters, there is no error validation
performed.
FRM-4135 When you a delete column or row from a table in an electronic form
template, errors occur.
FRM-4126 When you are not allowed to edit a form instance, the Invoke button in
the form instance is disabled.
FRM-4089 When you use a Document View component to import files of a custom
type in TaskSpace, the error message triggered by a processor validator is
not displayed in the window.
FRM-4055 The content list for a Folder Contents template does not refresh if it has two
custom filters and one of the filters is set as the default filter.
FRM-3991 A JDBC adaptor with string/date/date-time as input would cause an error
that could block its execution.
FRM-3962 A document validation error in an embedded form does not prevent the
submission of the outer form.
FRM-3952 If you remove one of the output data for the adaptor, a read-only table does
not return values.
FRM-3950 Embedded ODT view from task view shrinks when two embedded doc
views are used in task view template.
FRM-3922 The attributes of custom type are not propagated to the next page when
you import multiple attachments.
FRM-3900 When you click the Invoke button, the JS for the onclick event starts before
the JS for the onfocusout control event for the previous control.
FRM-3857 The FormServiceUtil.class hides the true error(s) when there is a failure
during an Import operation.

FRM-3862 We resolved the problem where Forms Builder did not warn you if you
mapped multiple user interface items to the same attribute.
FRM-1906 We fixed the problem that caused Forms Builder to hang when a check box
control was added to an electronic form template and configured to work
with a data source adaptor.
FRM-1872 Forms Builder displays an error message and the design pane crashes
when you try to delete a control by pressing Delete on the keyboard on a
Windows 7 machine.
FRM-1830 We fixed the problem where Sysobjectfullfetch() was called for every row
returned after you clicked Search on a custom form in an environment.
FRM-1815 An OpenOffice document file (ODT) cannot be previewed for a high fidelity
form instance in TaskSpace when focus is in the preview window. The issue
occurs when using Internet Explorer 8 on a Windows 7 machine.
FRM-1813 Forms Builder does not properly display check boxes in the preview panel
when the label orientation value is set to top.
FRM-1803 Internet Explorer 8 does not highlight a selected item in a TaskSpace list box
if the list box is single-selection and read-only.
FRM-1793 We resolved the problem where Forms Builder did not add a drop-down
list to the design pane for an electronic form template when you select
Tools > Options > Bind later in design phase from the menu and then try
to add the drop-down list.
FRM-1785 We fixed the problem that caused a form schema to be incorrectly updated
by removing constraints from the schema. The control validates only on the
applicable constraint from the data control.
FRM-1780 We resolved the issue that caused Forms Builder to not display warnings if
you did not include the r_object_type, r_content_size, r_lock_owner, and
a_content_type attributes when designing a custom forms template list view,
such as a search view, task list, or folder content form template.
FRM-1772 We fixed the issue where TaskSpace returned the wrong server-side
validation message for a DateTime Field control.
FRM-1770 The DQL in the Query window on the Special tab displays "<” for
r_content_size when you select greater than on the search template wizard.
To correct the problem, click Modify Query on the Special tab and then
change "<" to ">" for r_content_size in the DQL query.
FRM-1751 We fixed the problem that caused the slider control to not appear in
TaskSpace.
FRM-1631 We resolved the issue that caused invisible packages for an activity to appear
in the XML schema and XML instance document for a Task form.

FRM-1286 We fixed the issue that caused the following error in TaskSpace when using
a high fidelity form as the package form for a workflow:

Cannot instantiate form using the template for selected business process.
FRM-914 We fixed the problem that caused Forms Builder to incorrectly version a
form template created by selecting Copy UI from existing form and Share
the same data model. The problem occurred for the following scenario:
• Template B is created by selecting Copy UI from existing form, selecting
template A, and selecting Share the same data model.

• Both templates are updated to produce versions 1.0 and 2.0.

• When version 1.0 of template A is updated and checked in as minor

version 2.1, template B version 1.0 is branched to 1.0.1.0 and version 2.0 is
locked.

• Checking out version 2.0 of template A and checking it in as minor

version 2.1 works correctly.
FRM-910 We corrected the problem where an adaptor added to a template with a
shared data model was not imported correctly into the target repository
using Composer.
FRM-857 We fixed the problem where Forms Builder displayed an error message
indicating a template name was not valid when the name contained
double-byte or accented characters. The issue occurred when selecting
Create based on existing type to create a template in Arabic, French,
Brazilian Portuguese, German, Japanese, Korean, Russian, Simplified
Chinese, Spanish, and Swedish.
FRM-592 We fixed the issue where WDK validation triggered an error message at
runtime for visible fields set as not required on a process parameter template
at design time. The error message appeared when the user did not provide
values for the fields and submitted the form.
FRM-559 We resolved the issue where Forms Builder allowed you to assign ALT+V
and ALT+M as hot keys for a tab group control. Pressing the hot keys at
runtime in Internet Explorer 6 and 7 opened an Internet Explorer function
instead of the tab group control function.
FRM-523 We fixed the problem where read-only table labels did not appear if you
created a template with a text field, read-only table, and tab group controls
and then copied and pasted the read-only table to the first tab in the tab
group.

FRM-363 If the text for labels, display text in selection controls, or column names
contain extra internal spaces, the spaces will be maintained in the properties,
but they are not displayed in the Display pane, Preview pane, or at runtime.
For example, if the display text for a value in a list box is entered with three
spaces between the first word and the second word, the three spaces will
be reflected in the Special tab of the Properties pane for the listbox control,
but only one space will display in the Display pane, Preview pane, and at
runtime. Previously, extra spaces would display in the Design pane but not
in the Preview pane or at runtime.
FRM-126 When you add a rich text control to a form template and configure the
control to not have initial focus at runtime, initial focus is on the control
when the form instance is opened in Webtop.
FRM-120 When you open a form instance in Webtop, and the form template includes
conditional properties, if you enter a value that causes the controls to be
read-only and then press Enter, the full page refreshes even though it should
not. To correct the problem, press TAB instead, which does not cause a
full page refresh.
FRM-26 A high fidelity form template created by sharing a data model does not
update the design canvas layout after modifying the source template repeat
control rows or the table of possible values.

Known Issues

This section identifies known product issues and limitations that may affect your use of the product.

FRM-5606 Forms require quirks mode to show the correct layout when using Internet
Explorer 9.

Workaround:

To ensure that forms display controls properly, in Internet Explorer 9.0, set
the Document Mode option to Quirks.

1. Open Internet Explorer 9.0 browser.

2. Click Internet Explorer setting icon.

3. Select Developer Tools.

4. Change the Document mode to Quirks.

FRM-5571 Forms Builder 6.7 SP2 does not support artifacts such as type, process,
and task generated by xCP 2.0 client. However, user can still see these
unsupported artifacts when the 6.7 SP2 Forms Builder connects to 7.0
repository.
FRM-4554 When you click the heading of a repeating attribute column in a task list, the
column contents are not sorted and an error occurs.
FRM-4543 If you style slider controls for a form template, the styling does not work
properly if you use Internet Explorer version 9 with Webtop to view the
form instance.
FRM-4114 When you use a Boolean attribute in an advanced search, the conditional
column settings do not show the correct options. This limitation applies to
a search template configured to use the advanced search option to specify
a Boolean attribute and object name in the search query. When you open
the list view control, select the Boolean attribute, modify the attribute, and
edit its conditional settings, if you click Add to add a conditional setting,
there is no drop-down list with True and False values and the condition
drop-down list incorrectly contains values for a string variable. Because of
the complexity of the advanced search, it is not possible to determine the
data type of the columns, so the default is to treat them as strings.

FRM-4112 When you create a new form template using Forms Builder 5.3 SP6 with a
D6.5 Win/SQL repository, clicking Finish in the creation wizard generates
the following error:

Unable to complete the new form template creation process.

This is not a supported configuration.

FRM-4110 Tool tips set for rich text box and list box do not appear at runtime. Tool tips
cannot be shown for rich text boxes and list boxes.
FRM-4108 When you have a tab group containing controls that are set to specific tab
order values, the tab navigation order does not work correctly at runtime.
This is because the focus may not be obvious for certain controls, such as
a radio button group or list box. You might need to use the up and down
arrow keys to change the value of these controls. After you tab through
all the controls on a form, the focus of the subsequent tab may rest on the
browser’s address bar or toolbar.
FRM-4105 When using a custom folder tab in TaskSpace, if the form user opens a folder
to view documents and then clicks Back on the browser, TaskSpace displays
only documents even though the user selected documents and sub-folders
as the folder contents view preference. This is because web development
kit (WDK) applications do not support the Back button is not supported in
a WDK application.
FRM-4103 If you create a general form template with three radio group controls and
set the tab order for one of the controls to skip, when the form is opened at
runtime in Webtop, the form user is able to tab through all of the controls,
including the control set to skip. This is a limitation specific only to Internet
Explorer and radio group controls caused by a bug in Internet Explorer.
FRM-4101 When using form templates in right-to-left mode at runtime in TaskSpace
through a web browser, the supported browsers are:
• Internet Explorer 6

• Internet Explorer 7

• Firefox 2.0.0.12

Firefox displays scroll bars always on the right, regardless of whether the
form template layout is set to right-to-left. Therefore, Firefox cannot support
the scroll bars in a right-to-left layout.
FRM-4046 The Forms Builder User Guide incorrectly lists the Rich Text control as a
supported control for Execute adaptor after input value changes. You
cannot use the control to execute an adaptor after an input value for the
control changes.

FRM-4018 The Forms Builder User Guide discusses the behavior of calculation
formulas in the context of opening a form instance only. The guide does not
describe what happens after the user submits the form.

Forms Builder User Guide does not accurately describe the behavior of
calculation formulas (FRM-4018), page 30 provides more information on
the behavior of calculation formulas.
FRM-4010 When you create a high fidelity form template or electronic form template, if
you select Copy the date model to copy default input values from another
high fidelity form template or electronic form template, Forms Builder does
not copy the input values to the new template.
FRM-3932 If you enter data in a text field on a task form instance that contains an
embedded folder contents instance and folder information instance, the data
is not saved after you close or finish an activity. To avoid this problem,
create an electronic form template based on the dm_folder object type and
embedded it in the task view.
FRM-3760 If you configure a search template to hide a horizontal box at runtime if the
form user selects a check box, a blank pane appears under the search results
when the user clicks the check box.
FRM-3595 Forms Builder does not allow form users to version instances of electronic
forms even though the users have "version” permission.
FRM-3290 If you configure Forms Builder to use a 64-bit Java Runtime Environment
(JRE) on a 64-bit operating system, high fidelity form templates do not
appear in the design canvas.
FRM-1935 The TaskSpace viewer for Open Document Format (ODF) files cannot
enforce validation rules. If you configure a high fidelity form template to
have required fields, TaskSpace allows users to save high fidelity form
instances if they do not provide values for the required fields.
FRM-1916 Data loss occurs if the number of internationalization characters entered in a
high fidelity form instance exceeds string length. If a user enters more than
32 internationalization characters in a text field or list box on a high fidelity
form instance, Forms Builder does not update the attribute values for the
text field or list box.
FRM-1561 Forms Builder does not allow users to open the default process template
list form template.
FRM-1552 Users who do not have write permission for a process variable are able to
modify the process variable in a task form instance in TaskSpace. The user is
able to finish the task form and an error message does not appear.

FRM-1452 If you configure controls in a D6.5 SP2 environment with calculation
formulas, tabbing between the controls forces Ajax calls that
cause the formulas to re-calculate. To correct the issue, set the
render-inline-request-for-calculation parameter value in the
xforms_config.xml file to false. The following example shows the path to the
xforms_config.xml file on machine that uses a Tomcat application server:

C:\tomcat_directory\webapps\taskspace\wdk\config
FRM-1045 In a document view template with a keywords field, if you enter more than
50 characters in the keywords field, a DfException message appears.
FRM-615 If you use a lightweight type to create a document view template, you
are not able to update the attributes when document view is opened in
TaskSpace. To correct the problem, remove the dm_sysobject attributes for
keywords, authors, subject, and title from the form.
FRM-613 When a search template searches for a time attribute and uses a date control
as the display, if the application server is in a different time zone than the
content server, the search does not work properly. To correct the problem,
ensure the application server is in the same time zone as the content server.
FRM-125 When you assign hot keys to a rich text control inside a tab, the form user
cannot edit the control at runtime.
FRM-1860 Forms Builder does not refresh the actions listed in the Action list box for an
invoke button after adding a configurable action in TaskSpace. The Action
list box lists the action after restarting Forms Builder.
FRM-1771 If you design a folder contents template or search template with large
horizontal and vertical values, the TaskSpace form instance does not allow
users to view the entire form by horizontally and vertically scrolling.
FRM-1639 64-bit browsers do not display high fidelity form instances.
FRM-1481 When querying an object based on one of its repeating attributes, Forms
Builder returns the same object twice. Forms Builder returns one object if
the query is run in another DQL editor. To resolve the issue, use the distinct
keyword in the query; for example:

select distinct r_object_id,cid,c_firstname from frm1481_type where any

agencylist in (’200’,’100’)
FRM-552 When submitting a high fidelity form instance to an HTTP address, the
form user does not receive any indication the form data was accepted by the
server. This is because OpenOffice does not analyze the server response and
verifies only that the HTTP address is valid.
FRM-491 If you change the font of a control, the new font does not appear for the
control in the Design pane. The new font appears in the Preview pane and
at runtime.
FRM-445 Search results display "1” or "0” instead of "T” or "F” when you modify a
search template query to include a Boolean attribute.

FRM-177 If you configure a tab to have a read-only table in a tab group, at runtime it
takes a long time to switch between tabs. The time it takes to switch between
tabs is equivalent to the time it takes the adaptor to perform its functions.
FRM-166 If you insert a repeatable table and apply the Item Validator (SetValue
Adaptor or Data Source Adaptor) to a table cell, when a form instance is
created and the form user inputs a value in the cell, inserts a row in the
table, and inputs a value in the cell in the new row, only the value in the first
cell is validated. This is a limitation with the Item Validator. If the item
being validated is a repeating element, only the first item occurrence can
be validated. To correct the problem, use the Document Validator instead
of the Item Validator.
FRM-151 At runtime, when entering data in a number field bound to either integer,
long, float, or double data types on a High Fidelity Form template, the
data entered must be a value between -2147483648 and 2147483647. If
the input value is smaller than -2147483648, the value automatically
changes to -2147483648. If the input value is bigger than 2147483647,
the value automatically changes to 2147483647. This is a limitation with
OpenOffice.org regarding number fields.
FRM-98 When you have a table with a repeating row that includes two controls
where the values in the second control depend on the value in the first
control of each row, the value of the second control on every row actually
depends on the value of the first control in the first row. This is a limitation
due to how a repeating table is designed.
TSP-265 When a user views a form instance with an attachment control in TaskSpace,
if the attachment contains a document with a very long name, the width of
the form increases because the document name does not wrap to a second
line. This is a limitation of the capabilities of the attachment control.
FRM-209 If a tab in a tab group contains a rich text control, you can use the hot key
to navigate to that tab. However, you cannot navigate to the other tabs in
the tab group using the hot keys assigned to those tabs. You must click each
of the tab to navigate to it.
FRM-42 While creating a task or task list template, if the selected process contains a
package with accented and double-byte characters as part of the package
name, Forms Builder fails to create the template. The following error
message is displayed:

error: l10N ’<package-name>’ is not a valid NCName

The problem appears because the package name contains non-ASCII

characters or unacceptable character sets.
FRM-35 When you add documents to attachment controls on a form at runtime, the
page refreshes and focus does not return to the attachment control. Instead,
the focus rests on other controls on the form. For example, consider a form
with a text field, radio button group, attachment control, rich text field,
and comment history control. At runtime, when you add an attachment

Forms Builder User Guide does not accurately describe

the behavior of calculation formulas (FRM-4018)
Forms Builder executes the calculation formula when the user opens the form instance and when the
user submits the form. Because the formula is executed a second time when the user submits the
form, values associated with the formula (for example, the value in a text field) are not saved. The
values revert to the values specified for the formula during design time.

This section lists the technical notes specific to Forms Builder.

Updated bar code OpenOffice extension

There is an updated version of the bar code OpenOffice extension, which is needed to view a high
fidelity form instance that contains a bar code using Documentum Webtop. The updated version is
for OpenOffice 3.0 or later. The file name is dm_barcode_3.0.oxt. The updated barcode extension also
requires Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 or later with service pack. If you are currently using .NET
Framework version 2.0 or 3.0, you need to update it to 2.0 SP1, 3.0 SP1, or 3.5.

Additional step necessary to view migrated templates

using Webtop 6.5 SP2
After upgrading the repository from version 5.3 to 6.5 SP2 and running the migration utility
MigrateTemplatesToD6, form templates created in 5.3 SP6 are not listed in the drop-down list when
creating a new form instance in Documentum Webtop 6.5 SP2. To correct this, you need to run the
following DQL statement:
update dm_xfm_form objects set template_type='general_profile' where template_type
is nullstring

Technical Notes

Checking out templates created in version 5.3 in

version 6.5
When a form template created in version 5.3 is checked out in Forms Builder version 6.5, the template
is migrated but an error occurs when the user attempts to check it in. To avoid this issue, follow this
procedure when first opening a template in version 6.5 that was created in version 5.3:

To properly upgrade a template migrated from version 5.3 to 6.5

1. Open the form template in Forms Builder 6.5 (or 6.5 SP1) but do not check it out.
2. Uninstall the form template and make a small change (for example, change a label).
3. Save the form template, but select No when prompted to overwrite the XML App in the
repository.
4. Install the form template. You should now be able to check out and check in the form template
successfully.

Task List template should include the task name column

You should always add the task_name column to the Task List template. Otherwise, TaskSpace
users are sometimes unable to open a task from a task list by double-clicking it. If this happens, the
user can open the task by selecting it, right-clicking, and selecting View from the context menu.

Uninstalling the ODF Viewer

The ODF Viewer for 6.5 SP1 is not listed in Add/Remove programs. If you wish to uninstall the ODF
Viewer, you must delete it manually from the C:\Program Files\Documentum\OpenOffice directory.

Change ACS server base URL if cannot see PDF or ODF

files in TaskSpace on localized environment
When using TaskSpace in a localized environment, particularly Korean, Portuguese, or Arabic, if
you are unable to see PDF or ODF files on a folder tab, it may be that the browser does not know
where the ACS server is located. To remedy this, you need to update the ACS server base URL with
the IP address rather than the machine name.

Supported Arabic locale for Forms Builder and

TaskSpace
The default Arabic locale supported in Forms Builder and TaskSpace is ar_EG.
