Teaching Purpose
In this lesson, you will learn materials related to congratulations and
compliments (extended). Therefore, you are expected to be able to
apply social functions, text structures, linguistic elements involving
congratulating and compliment, and being able to develop simple oral
and written interpersonal texts involving congratulatory and
complimentary. You are also expected to develop social attitudes such
as honest, diligent, caring, and responsible. In addition it strengthens
the character and literacy

1. To be able to apply the social function, structure of the text, and language
feature used in congratulating, you need to read your English textbook on page
23 and page 24.

Task 1
Zach : Thanks God, I did it! Luckily I succeeded to win the first place.
Zach : It’s a kind of you for saying so, Cindy. So how about you and your
team for cheerleader competition?
Cindy : Unfortunately, my team and I didn’t win the competition. We only got
the third place but we were happy since we had won over many other
