Objectives:
As a result of completing this course, the students will be able to:
1. Understand the differences among the literary genres and the formalistic elements of each that
can help aid their understanding of the literary works listed in this syllabus.
3. Write scholarly paper and talk intelligently about literary works assigned to them for reading
and criticism.
4. Share their appreciation of assigned literary works to classmates and other people through
discussions or role playing.
