Dear Parents,

Kindly note the details of September Month Inter House Competition for the Primary
Grades.
This month focuses on the dramatisation and performing skills of the students.
Date: 14 September, 2018 ( Friday)

Grade wise instructions are as follows –

Grade 1 - Fancy Dress (Fairy Tale / Cartoon character) (Individual Competition)

 Students have to come dressed as their favourite cartoon or fairy tale
character.
 They have to introduce themselves by saying a few lines - not more
than 1 minute.

Grade 2 - Fantasy Monologue (Fairy Tale / Cartoon character) (Individual Competition)

 Students have to choose a character from a fairy tale or cartoon, and
prepare and perform a monologue.
 The monologue could be from the story or it could also be imaginary
(what the characters might really say if given a chance).
 The monologue should not be more than a minute.
 Examples: Tooth Fairy, Snow White, Cinderella, Rapunzel, Little Red
Riding Hood, Little Mermaid, Gretel, Hansel, Shoemaker, Aladdin,
Tom Thumb, Pinocchio, Frog Prince, the boy who cried wolf etc.

Grade 3 - Characters Come Alive (Individual Competition)

 Students have to choose a character from a well-known traditional
or modern literary texts or comic strip.
 They have to dress up in the attire/costume that compliments that
character.
 They have to introduce themselves by saying a few lines - not more
than 1 minute. Examples: Harry Potter, Tom Sawyer, Anne Shirley
(Anne of Green Gables), Alice, Mad Hatter, Peter Pan, Tinkerbell,
Oliver Twist, White Witch (Chronicles of Narnia), Doctor Dolittle,
Sherlock Holmes, etc.
 Note: Students cannot select a character from the English
Literature readers that are a part of VIBGYOR curriculum for
grades 1 to 3.

Grade 4 - Famous Duos Come Alive (Pair Competition)

 The students will participate in pairs.

 Students have to choose any two characters (friends, siblings or

nemesis) from a well-known traditional or modern story or comic
strip.
 They have to dress up in the attire/costume that compliments that
character. They have to introduce themselves by saying a few
lines. They can also have a small dialogue interaction, however it
should not exceed 1 minute
 Examples: Sherlock Holmes and Dr Watson, Dorothy and Toto
(Wizard of Oz), Harry Potter and Lord Voldemort, Winnie the Pooh
and Piglet, Pooh and Christopher Robin, Batman and Robin, Laurel
and Hardy etc.
 Note: Students cannot select a duo from the English Literature
readers that are a part of VIBGYOR curriculum for grades 1 to 4.
