My name is ……………., a fresh graduate of Actuarial science from the University of Lagos, Nigeria. As an
intending professional who aspires to start a career in the area of (Career of Interest), I wish to apply for
the role of a Graduate Analyst within your firm.

I have come to appreciate the impact (My Firm of Interest) is making in the investment and financial
sector of the country through its services as a major financial institution with strong experience and
knowledge about emerging and frontier markets.

As an award-winning firm, having won so many at that, I believe (My Firm of Interest) will provide me
with the strong learning grounds necessary for my development in this chosen field.

Besides my degree of study, my continual interest in finance was consolidated with the projects I was
assigned on while interning at the corporate finance and restructuring unit of KPMG Nigeria. The
challenging and mentally invigorating nature of the role exposed me to so much knowledge and clarity
within a short time. Being part of a team for a bank restructuring project, I was assigned with a senior
team member to interview the COO of a major commercial bank, in which I was expected to draft notes
among other things like research and analysis, which will form part of the tools needed for
recommendations on the project, this particularly exposed me to the nature of commercial banking
operations in Nigeria.

To keep up with the learning curve I joined Sahel Capital Partners Advisory, a private equity/consulting
firm in Lagos focused on agribusiness as a graduate intern. One of the interesting projects I was staffed
on, was a Gates Foundation sponsored project focused on strengthening food fortification in Nigeria.
Within my team, I was in charge of interviewing stakeholders, performing research and running analysis
for the wheat flour value chain, as one of the project-focus value chains. I also assisted in organization
and presentation of findings at the Stakeholders' Validation Workshop to gain industry insights and
incorporate feedbacks for the final recommendation. This project gave me a sense of purpose for the
impact I believe it is going to make once implemented in the Nigerian food fortification landscape.

In addition to my internship experiences and skillsets, I have been able to strengthen my leadership skills
through different extracurricular activities as an undergraduate, one of them being managing the funds
and liaising with faculty management to plan and host events that exposed students to different career
opportunities available to them and to create an avenue for them to be mentored.

I like to see myself as a visionary with an optimistic attitude, resourceful, detail-oriented behaviour and
unwavering determination which are derived from a variety of life experiences, given these, I believe I
will be an asset to your firm.
