EVENT STAFFING:
Group Lead: The Charity will select one individual who will be designated the “Charity Manager/Group
Lead.” This individual will be responsible for the volunteers being on time and ready to perform their
assigned functions. Our NPO coordinator will use the group lead as their primary contact for your

Group Lead is responsible for scheduling a chosen number of volunteers for each event.
Cancellation Policy: If the group brings fewer than the agreed upon number of volunteers, they will be
subject to our cancelation policy. The group lead must report any cancelations to the NPO Coordinator no
later than 48 hours before the event begins. Any cancelations within 48 hours will be considered no-
shows. The number of no-shows from a group will be deducted from the total spots they will be allowed
for the next event.
STAFF/VOLUNTEER APPEARANCE CODE:
It is essential that the food and beverage service at Ivar's concession stands display a professional image
to all guests. Therefore, the Charity is expected to ensure that the volunteers in attendance will follow
Ivar's standards and guidelines in appearance, actions, and attitudes while dealing with the public. That
said, it is agreed that all volunteers will be in proper uniform while on duty at Ivar’s. Appearance
Standards are and will be expected to be complied in full. Non-compliance can result in forfeiture of that
day’s work.
*Proper uniform for all volunteers:
• Long (below the ankle) black slacks. Denim, Sweatpants, yoga pants, Capri pants, shorts or skirts are
NOT allowed.
• Ivar’s Polo – we will provide. Please have your polo visible at all times. Long sleeve shirts and jackets

PERMITS & SERVICE REQUIREMENTS:

Alcohol Service Requirements: Everyone selling or serving alcohol MUST be familiar with the
Washington State alcohol beverage sales laws, provisions and guidelines. It is the responsibility of the
Charity to ensure that each volunteer provided knows and abides by those provisions. Century Link,
Safeco Field and Cheney Stadium require valid ID for ALL alcohol purchases, No exceptions!
*Any volunteer cited by the police or an agent of the Washington State Liquor Control Board for
selling alcoholic beverages to a minor or to an apparently intoxicated individual could be subject to
a personal fine and/or administrative action.
**No volunteer can purchase or consume an alcoholic beverage on the grounds of any venue on a
day that they have contracted to work for Ivar’s.

MAST Permit: Those over 21 years of age and older should have MAST (Manditory Alcohol Service
Training) certification. This permit is required to serve alcoholic beverages in the State of Washington.
Alcohol is not served inside Husky Stadium; therefore, a MAST permit is not required to cashier at Husky
Stadium and young adults (16+) can act as a cashier. However, at Century Link Field, Safeco Field and
Cheney Stadium volunteers will be involved in the sale of alcoholic beverages at the concessions stands.
MAST permits may be obtained online for $10 at
rserving.com

Food Worker’s Permit: Every volunteer is required to obtain a Food Worker’s permit prior to
working their first event. Food service provided at Century Link Field, Safeco Field, Husky Stadium and
Cheney Stadium operate under permit from the King or Pierce County Health Department. This permit
requires that all operations be conducted per the rules and regulations of this Health Department. All
volunteers will comply fully within these regulations at all times. Each volunteer worker will provide a
copy of a valid Food Workers Permit. Each Charity volunteer worker is responsible for the costs
associated with obtaining his/her Food Handlers Permit. All volunteers will have their Food Handlers
permit with them while working at any Ivar’s Sports & Entertainment venue.
Food Workers Permits may be obtained online at
foodworkercard.wa.gov

Liability Insurance Coverage: All persons furnished by the Charity will be considered their employees
or agents. The Charity shall be responsible for payment of all unemployment, Social Security, and other
payroll taxes or related contributions. The Charity agrees to indemnify and save Ivar's, Inc. harmless
from any claims or demands (including the costs, expenses, and reasonable attorney's fees on account
thereof) that may be made by persons furnished by the Charity under Worker's Compensation or similar
acts. If a liability claim against Ivar's results due to an act by a Charity volunteer, Ivar's policy is endorsed
to include Charity volunteers as additional insured’s, if the Charity volunteer is acting at the direction of
and within the scope of their duties for Ivar's, Inc.

AT CENTURYLINK FIELD, SAFECO FIELD, HUSKY STADIUM & CHENEY STADIUM
RULES OF THE GAME
It is the responsibility of the Charity to ensure that all volunteers are aware of and follow the regulations
and guidelines outlined in the following Rules of the Game. ALL group volunteers will be expected to
follow the guidelines and regulations of Ivar’s, the Seattle Seahawks, the Seattle Mariners, the University
of Washington and the Stadium Concessionaires. The Stand Manager can address any questions
regarding appropriate procedures.
Uniform: Individuals not in proper uniform will be denied entrance into the stadium. (Refer to
“Staff/Volunteer appearance code” for guidelines.)
Cell phones/Headphones: Cell phones are prohibited while working. Using cell phones and/or headphones are
unprofessional, and against the health code. Please keep cell phones stored with your personal belongings while
working. You may access your phone during your break.
Tips: Tips may not be solicited in any form at all Seattle locations. No tip jars/cups or visible money out
to “seed” tips is allowed. If a guest wants to give you a tip, you may take it but we do not work for tips
and do not have a "policy" regarding them. Your group may want to come up with their own agreement
as to how any tips earned are distributed. Tips must be out of sight of guests at all times.
*Tip cups are permitted at certain positions at Cheney Stadium.
Breaks: Managers or Stand supervisors will assign breaks as business allows. Breaks will be limited to
15 minutes at one time. Taking any longer affects the quality of service to our guests, and makes it unfair
to others who also would like to take a break.
Smoking: Ivar’s as a corporation has a non-smoking policy and employees are prohibited from smoking
during their work period (including breaks). Although we cannot necessarily hold our non-profit
partners to the same requirements, breaks of any kind are given at the manager’s discretion and are of
limited time.
Meals: Meals will be provided for you to have something to eat from your stand. Meals must be from the
stand you are assigned. Please do not take any unaccounted food or drink items. Beverages cups or water
bottles are provided which are separate from those used for customers. Please see the stand manager to
identify these items. Make sure the stand manager notes the meal you have for your break. Beverages and
food must be consumed in a designated area, out of the view of our guests.
*Tacoma volunteers will receive a 50% coupon to eat anywhere in the stadium during allotted break time.
Register Variance: In order to instate a greater level of accountability for cash shortages and overages,
all cash variances will be tracked and logged. We will inform the group lead of any overages or shortages
that exceed +/-$25, which will be considered a substantial variance. The volunteer shall receive one
warning when a variance occurs. Any further instances will be subject to penalties including temporary
suspension from, or permanent removal from the cashier position. The volunteer will still be permitted to
work in a minor position and receive the minor rate of pay. In order to account for shortages or overages,
we ask that all issues that may cause a variance be reported to your assistant manager or stand manager
immediately. If a valid explanation for the variance is provided, it will not be counted against the
volunteer. Explanations will be evaluated the GM of the stadium before they are excused.
Physical Demands: Everyone is required to work at the pace and commitment they would at any job.
Ivar’s expects each volunteer to perform what we regard as reasonable tasks at a reasonable pace. All
volunteers must be able to stand on their feet and work the length of time we are open for business.
Those with physical inabilities or on medication that prevents them from such work should evaluate if
this is something they can commit to. Ivar’s cannot be responsible for breaking people who can only
work for limited times or are unable to perform a certain duty because of their limitations. These
limitations effect our operations.

RULES OF THE GAME (continued)
Job Flexibility: You will send people who are willing to work wherever the help is needed; this could
include cashiering, pouring drinks or chowder, washing dishes, etc. They will be willing to work within
our systems. You agree that clean up during the game can be part of the responsibility of the charity and
that everyone stays to clean as instructed and directed by the manager.
Dismissal: Ivar’s cannot control how long an event will last. Generally, sales diminish during the fourth
quarter of a football game, after the 75th minute of a soccer match and in the 8th inning of a baseball
game. At this time, we begin the process of closing the stands. Please be prepared to stay for the length of
time necessary. Carpool and Ferry Schedules will be kept under consideration but not necessarily
adhered to. All duties must be complete before the group or individuals leave the stand. It is possible for
groups to be split between multiple concession locations. Regardless if your group has been dismissed
from another stand, individuals work directly for the manager of the stand they are currently in and must
be dismissed accordingly. All volunteers must be dismissed by a stand manager. You are required to leave
the stadium at the end of your shift. Re-entry will be by ticket only.
Rain-Outs, Cancelations, Doubleheaders @ Cheney Stadiums: In the eventuality that a Rainiers game
is rained-out or canceled, it usually results in a doubleheader on a later date. In the event of a rained-out
game, if the gates have been opened to the public, all volunteers signed in will receive a flat rate of $30 for
the day. If you or your group works a doubleheader you will receive a flat rate of $90 per cashier and $80
per minor. In the event of a rained-out or canceled game, before gates have been opened to the public,
there will be no payment to groups.
Inventory: Our managers and leads are responsible for all inventories. Cups or other items cannot be
given away. Each inventoried item is worth the amount that it would be sold for. Refilling cups or giving
away food, beverages or other merchandise is not allowed and considered theft, as is mishandling of
company funds or inventory.
Giveaways/Autographs: Volunteers are not allowed to acquire or accept promotional items or
giveaways. Contact with members of the home or visiting teams, including obtaining autographs, is
prohibited.
Restricted Areas: Entering restricted areas of the Stadium without specific permission or authorization
is not allowed. Restricted areas include, but are not limited to:
• Playing Field or surrounding area
• Seating Area
• Team locker rooms
• Press level/Press area, Club Level, Suites and Lounges
Prohibited Items: Possession of firearms, explosives, or illegal substances is forbidden on stadium
property.

*Violation of these rules could mean the termination of your agreement with Ivar’s.
Uncooperative groups or individuals will be asked not to return for future events.
