The Western Veil Nebula

The Veil Nebula is a supernova remnant in the constellation Cygnus.

Also called the "Finger of God", the Western part is presented here.

A super giant star , some 20 times the mass of our sun, is at its origin

when it collapsed some 8000 years ago.

Distance to Earth: 1,470 light years

Radius: 50 light years
Magnitude: 7
Coordinates: RA 20h 45m 38s | Dec +30° 42′ 30″
Apparent dimensions (V): 3 degrees (diameter)

Melotte 15

This open cluster of stars known as Melotte 15 contains a few bright

stars nearly 50 times the mass of our Sun, and many more dim stars that

are only a fraction of our Sun's mass. It is situated in the middle of the

heart Nebula.

Distance to Earth: 7500 Light years

Magnitude: 6,5
Coordinates: RA 02h 33m 22s, DEC 61° 26′ 36″
Apparent dimensions (Heart Nebula): 150' x 150'

Hercules Globular Cluster

Messier 13 is a globular cluster of several hundred thousands of stars

situated in the constellation of Hercules. It is perceivable in a low

power telescope, even in binoculars, the cluster appearing as a round

patch of light

Distance to Earth: 22 200 Light years

Magnitude: 5,8
Coordinates: RA 16h 41m 41.24s DEC +36° 27′ 35.5″
Apparent dimensions : 22 arcmin

The Elephant Trunk Nebula

A massive concentration of gas and dust constitute the elephant trunk

nebula situated in Cepheus constellation. Many stars are taking birth in

this densely packed gas cloud. it is enlightened and ionized by a very

bright and massive star.

Distance to Earth: 2 400 Light years

Magnitude: 11,5
Coordinates: RA 21h 35m 37s DEC +57° 24′ 0.3″
Apparent dimensions : 45 arcmin
