• Teaching approach: The lesson is based on the Natural Approach, and organized
through the PPP procedure (Harmer,2010).

• Materials and resources:Boxes, Little balloons, crepe paper, glue, photocopies

 Pedagogical use of ICT in class: In this lesson, we will listen to a colour song. We will
use

• Seating arrangement: Students will be sitting in a circle on the floor in order to

facilitate visual contact and interaction within the group. At some points in the lesson,
they’ll move around the class. And then sit on chairs around a table.

• Assessment: what will be assessed and how: I’ll check that students comprehend
and identify the different colours. I`ll point out a colour and they have to say what
colour it is in loud voice. I’ll provide them with the necessary input, and I’ll encourage
them to produce the chunks of language I’m teaching.

Routine: 5’

Purpose: to start the lesson, get students into the mood for work, establish rapport.

I’ll get into the classroom and greet students: “Hello! How are you today?” EA: “Hello!”

I’ll ask students to sit in a circle on the floor and we’ll sing the usual welcome song:

“ This is the way we say hello, say hello, say hello,

This is the way we say hello, say hello to you”

Warm-up 5’:

Purpose: to introduce the topic and the teaching points

I`ll show them three boxes. One red, the other blue and the last one yellow. In
the boxes there are little colours balloons. I`ll create mystery simulating that I will not
open the box.

Transition: Could you help me to open the boxes, please?

Presentation 10’:

Purpose: to further expose the learners to the target language, to foster

comprehension of a very simple vocabulary

Now, we open the boxes and I´ll show them the little balloons. I´ll present the colours
by singing a song.

“This is red, the colour red, red , red , red do you know what colour is this? This is red

And then go on with the rest of the colours.

Once the three colours are introduced we will play with little balloons, throwing them
to the air. I will make sure there is one for each student or that everybody can play.

Development 10’:

 Activity 1:

Purpose: this activity is aimed at fostering contextualized practice of the teaching

points.

I´ll put the boxes on the floor and they have to classify the little balloons in the
different boxes.

Transition: “Well done children!

 Closure 10 min-Activity 2: Commented [A1]: This is much more than a closure activity.
The students will work on the tables. They will stick mini balls of crepe paper and
paste them in a balloon(photocopy).I will assign different colours to different
learners. So a group of students can make red balloons, another group may work
on green balloons, and a third group can make a yellow balloon. We may use those
balloons to decorate the classroom walls, and to recycle colours/ numbers in
future lessons

Then “Oh, no! Look at the time” I will keep an eye on timing. Everybody should finish the task
(pointing to the clock on the wall). It’s time to say goodbye!Let’s sing the good bye song:

“ This is the way we bye bye hello, say bye,bye hello,

This is the way we say bye bye, say bye bye to you”

Nice lesson, Gastón!

Have a look at the comments and suggestions, to brush it up a little bit.

Make sure you use L2 at all times, and do encourage students to use the target language. While
they are working on the balloons, you could play some music. ;)

Good!

I still think you need to include some TPR activities. Do so in future lesson plans.

Have a great time!
