The Philippine Society of Information Technology Students-Western Visayas

(PSITS-WV) will have its 26th Regional IT Congress, with the Theme: “Towards
an IT Enabled Nation” , on August 22-23, 2018 (Wed-Thu) at Kapis Mansions
Hotel, Brgy. Banica, Roxas City.

Dance Competition

Mechanics
1. The PSITS-WV Inter-School Dance Competition is a contest of hip-hop dance
with the use of modern technologies as dance concept (includes dance steps,
music & props).
2. Only one group representative per school is allowed.
3. Participating schools members should be registered participants of PSITS-WV
21th Regional Congress.
4. Each group will have a minimum of 6 and a maximum of 12 members.
5. Each group will be given 2 minutes to prepare / set up any props or
equipment needed on stage. And a maximum of 5 minutes shall be allotted
separately to each participating group for their presentation.
6. The members of the participating group maybe composed of all males or
females, or any combination thereof.
7. The dance number must have an accompaniment of any music, which is
given upon registration.
8. The use of pyrotechnic gadgets, a smoke or combustible material as props is
not allowed.
9. The decision of the members of the board of judges is final and irrevocable.

The criteria for judging:


1. Choreography (Creativity, Artistry, Style & Originality) – 30%
2. Execution (Timing & Coordination, Projection, Difficulty) – 25%
3. Costume, Props & Music – 25%
4. Over-all Concept – 20%

Guidelines
1. Each school is only allowed with one contestant.
2. Photos shall be taken only during the stated contest period (August 22, 2018). Concept should be
original, entertaining and wholesome, depicting the photo contest theme which will be announce
during the contest proper.
3. Contestants should provide their own cameras. (As much as possible, DSLR cameras will be used.)
4. Entries submitted must be a high-resolution photograph of at least 300 dpi at 8″ x 10″ in dimension
(portrait or landscape) on or before the specified deadline with a digital edited copy (JPEG format only)
and Original (unedited / raw ) file.
5. No name or any mark identifying the photographer shall be included in the photo itself. Upon
submission, all entries shall bear only the Photo Entry Number. Names of photographers shall be
included only after the judging and during the photo exhibition.

6. Entries submitted must be original and in color (not B&W or monochromatic).
7. Digital enhancement are allowed but limited to brightness, contrast and saturation only(For
printing/developing and Photo Exhibit). Deleting or adding any elements in the photo is NOT allowed.
8. Thirty percent (30 %) cropping of whole picture is allowed to compliment the 8×10 dimension. (For
printing/developing)
9. The organizer (PSITS-WV) reserve the right, in sole discretion, to disqualify and remove any entry that
does not comply with the requirements, even after the Entry is submitted.
10. The organizer and judges’ decision is final; no other correspondence will be entertained.
11. Images files submitted by the contestants remain their property. However by submitting your entry
including soft copies, give PSITS-WV the explicit rights to publish, exhibit and use your images on our
website and other official online/offline channels and for media publicity/advertising in our sole
discretion without financial consideration to the owner, but photo credits will be rendered.
12. PSITS-WV reserves the right to create, revoke, or modify at any time, in any way its entry requirements,
guidelines and mechanics at its absolute discretion without prior notice, but this will be discussed
during the orientation. Submitted entries shall be bound by any amendments or addition to the entry
requirements and guidelines.

1. The contestant must register his/her name on the day of the convention to the organizers.
2. Contestants must bring their own laptop, Digital Pen and extension cord.
3. Contestants are not allowed to use the internet while working.
4. Only 1 contestant per school is allowed.
5. Each contestant must submit one digital art only.
6. The digital art must be relevant to the theme which will be provided during the contest.
7. All entries must be done in a vector/vexel art.
8. Contestants can use any vector/vexel graphics application.
9. Image size: Height: 8in x Width: 12in, Orientation: landscape, Resolution: 300px
10. The In-charge of the competition has the right to disqualify the participants in the event of cheating or
has a ready-made (template) photos.
11. Once the competition starts, any discussion between two different teams may result in immediate
disqualification from the competition.
12. The output must NOT bear any watermark or signature of the name of the artist or the school he/she
represents.
13. The decision of the board of judges is final and irrevocable.
