Meeting called to order at 9:50am by President Narramore

Approval of December 3, 2016 General Annual Membership Minutes

a) 2017 Board Introductions
The President introduced the board of Directors and the rolls that they play on the board
throughout the year

Changes to the bylaws were recommended by an attorney.

Treasurer’s Report (Holland)


a) 2017 Financial Report
Distributed to the membership. The current balance between both checking and savings
account: $102,000

b) 2018 Proposed Budget (Distributed to membership)


MSC (Avey, Albrect) to approve the proposed 2018 budget.
Of the $102,000, only $7,000 is restricted to a specific place. The proposed budget is almost
identical to the previous year’s budget.

c) 2018 Special Budget Funding


i. Patio Expansion Project Presentation (Patton)
Patton explained his desire to build a patio on the backside of the lodge overlooking the
river. It will cost $55,000 and will be ecologically friendly in construction. Collapsible
portions of the deck to prevent snow damage during the winter time. No trees will be
harmed in the construction of the deck. It will aid in the campers experience while at
Camp Sacramento. It will be built out of composite materials. How many years will it
last? Many years due to composite materials outlasting standard wood)

ii. Campership Presentation (Patton/Miller)

Looking to transfer $7,500 into the campership fund to increase the amount of working-
poor families that we are able to send to camp. One of the most important things that the
Friends of Camp Sacramento does is giving the Camp experience to those that cannot
afford it.

d) Voting for General Fund and Special Fund Budget Approval

MSC (Avey, C. Jones) to approve the patio expansion project and to move $7500 for
Campership program.

Manager’s Report (Patton)


a) 2017 Camp Summer Review
This summer, Camp Sacramento took on a rigorous undertaking to become an accredited by
the ACA (American Camping Association)!! This was a huge undertaking for Camp staff
and a huge accomplishment!

b) 2017 Staff Member of the Year Presentation

c) 2017 Volunteer of the Year Award Presentation (Patton/Narramore)


Congratulations Beverly Richardson! She has worked hard to preserve the history of Camp
Sacramento, collecting articles, photos and artifacts that go back to the very beginning as
Camp approaches its 100 year anniversary.

Adoption of 2018 Membership Rates (Tomlinson)


The rates are not changing this year. This year we had the most gold members we have ever had,
3 gold leaves were sold. Total of 288 members this year make up the Friends membership.

MSC (Hargrove, W. Tomlinson) to adopt the proposed membership rates for 2018.

Nominating Committee and Election of New Board Members (DuCharme)


Five open spots for the 2018 board, 4 people are interested in running for the open spots. Larry
Culler, Jim Miller (both who have terms that are ending) are interested in filling two spots and
Leena Gurtis and __________.

MSC (Ford, Apgar-Rich) to move all the nominees into 3 year spots on the board.

2019 Dues

The Friends of Camp Sacramento has a tiered dues structure that provides certain
benefits to members based upon their level of membership. There are no
recommended changes to the dues structure at this time.

Gold -- $500

Silver -- $250

Bronze -- $100

Marmot -- $50

Chipmunk -- $35

Minnow -- $25

2019 Candidates

The Friends of Camp Sacramento Board of Directors currently has seven (7)
vacancies due to mid-year resignations and the conclusion of member terms. The
seven duly qualified individuals below have been nominated to fill the vacancies and
are recommended for election by the Board of Directors.
