p. 37 If a blessing reaches you that
a human being gives you and you
think it is from him, this is
ignorance and a veil hiding the Knowledge State Act
station of gratitude. You should
know, rather, that he gave you that
because God Most High sent him a
(religious) impulse or agent that
compelled him to decide to do that. Figure 7 : The 3 Fundamentals of the Stations of Religion.
However much he would have
wanted to oppose that impulse, he
is unable to do so. If he had been
able to, he would not have given
you a single grain. The impulse is
that thought that fell into his heart
and reminded him: “Your welfare
in religion and the world lies in
that you give it to him,” so that he,
eager to achieve his own aim in
this world and the next, gave it to
you.

State (of Gratitude)
•It is the joy which appears in the heart.
•3 Aspects
•A king gives a horse to a servant and the servant is happy because he is in
need of a horse ‐ not gratitude to the king (the servant would have become
just as happy if he found a horse in the desert).
•The joy that comes from recognizing the favor of the king with respect to him
and starts to hope for more ‐ gratitude but it is lacking.
•The joy that comes because he is able to sit upon the horse and go in
attendance on the king so that he may see the king ‐ entirety of gratitude.

ask Thee the perfect blessing." The
Messenger heard what he had said 2.2. The True Nature of Blessing
and asked (the man): "Do you
know what the perfect blessing is?" God's creation with respect to human beings.
(The man) answered: "No." (The
Messenger) said: "It is that you

Harmful in both worlds (eg; ignorance and bad

A comfort to this world and a sorrow in the next world
(eg; an amplitude of the worldly comforts and the
enjoyment in them).
A sorrow in this world but a comfort in the next world
(eg: asceticism and opposition to carnal appetites).
