Eco Singapore has embarked on the process to do research on environmental

matters, specifically on the human geography and its impact both in Singapore
and its region. Thus creating an opportunity for Volunteer Researcher Fellow
position.

Some myth to clarify: Is Research for only intelligent persons? Do you need to have
higher degrees for doing research?

The answer for these questions is No; you need not be intelligent for doing
research work but a hard working one. More than 60% of people in general globally
think that research scholars and scientists are born as intelligent and pursue
higher education. But, this is not entirely true.

The best example was Thomas Alva Edison, who invented many items and still
remains one of the highest receivers of patents. His inventions were not made by
his education background (as he did not even complete school) but due to his love
for reading. This is the most important skill for doing research; you should have the
patience for reading a lot of journals, papers and even magazines.

So we’d hope you can join us to be part of the Volunteer Fellow Researcher
position.

Volunteers we are looking for to be a Research Fellow should:

• Be passionate about environmental matters and research work
• Conversant in the English language
• Have or be pursuing a single degree of any type.
• Commit to finish at least one complete research paper, which will
include changes that need to be made after submission (total about at
least 6 months).

As a Volunteer Research Fellow, you should

• Commit to finish at least one research paper within three to six months
• Pick your research topic from the list of research topics provided.
• Follow strictly the Guideline in writing a research paper that we will be
providing
• Come up with the timeline of your research work before your
commencement of it
• Expect that you may be need to give a presentation about your
research work

Other Note:
• Plagiarism is strictly prohibited
• The title “Volunteer Research Fellow” will only be awarded after you
have successfully submitted at least one completed research paper
• Volunteer prior to completing the first research paper are to use
“Volunteer (Research Fellowship)”
