Frequently Asked Questions

1. What are the channels used for this, besides IVR and SMS do you need to install any
applications on the handset?
This is an IVR product -- there is no need for any applications that need to be installed
on the handset -- it can also be used from a wire line home phone. The customer can
therefore dial into a promotional number or a toll free no as decided by the operator.

2. How is the assessment / testing of the subscriber done?

The subscriber at the end of every lesson has to undergo a short assessment module
which is based on the module that they have just undertaken. The assessment module
is essentially also done through the IVR – where the subscriber has to press 1 or 2 or 3
on the phone for the correct answer. In case, the subscriber gives an incorrect answer
the question is presented again to the subscriber. This loop approach is adopted till the
subscriber gets the correct answer (with a maximum of 3 tries until the user is moved to
the next question). Each module has 6 such questions – comprising of a test.

3. Is there any MIS possible with respect to the subscriber?

Yes – there is MIS possible with respect to the subscriber. For example, in the
assessment, MIS can be generated which will give details as to how many attempts
were taken by the subscriber to get a correct answer. This can be sent to the subscriber
as a text / SMS message – or daily report card.

4. How many subscribers have taken the English Seekho program?

The total number of subscribers across the various cellular operators we work with in
India has crossed 500,000 within 6 months of the product being launched. Currently we
have a sign up rate of approximately over 40,000 users per month.

5. What makes the English Seekho program unique?

The English Seekho program is unique as it is one of the first time that a language is
being taught using technology over the telephony platform. This has been recognised
internationally as English Seekho has won 4 awards as of date:
1. Manthan Chairman’s Distinction Award
2. Sankalp Award for Inclusive Education
3. Meffy’s Award for most innovative m-Edu application
4. mBillionth Award – for most innovative m-Edu application

6. May I know your partner for the translation into the local language?
With respect to translations we work with a registered translation company -- if you have
any suggestions / parties that you recommend we would be happy to evaluate working
with them as well

7. How do you currently charge the users?

Currently cellular companies / telcos that we work with in India ( we work with Tata
Indicom, Aircel and Idea Cellular ) charge a monthly subscription fee plus a nominal per
minute flat rate for accessing the special short code number or a combination thereof.
For example, Tata Indicom charges users Rs. 20 per month of subscription fee + Rs.
0.60 per call. Another telco we work with – IDEA Cellular -- charges Rs.35 per month of
subscription and gives roughly 70 minutes of free access.

We get a flat revenue share on the total end user billing.
