CÉLIA MARA, BENJAMIM TAUBKIN & MARGARETHE DEPPE
A Brazilian Love Journey …
Célia Mara (BR/A): Voice, acoustic guitar
Benjamim Taubkin (BR): Piano
Margarethe Deppe (A/DE): Cello

The Brazilian Singer-Songwriter Célia Mara presents a new program, dedicated to the most exciting feelings you’ll
ever experience… Love. It’s an acoustic program, sophisticated, combining intensive interpretations with
instrumental perfection.
All songs are about love and what’s around… passion, jealousy, mercy, adultery, lonesomeness… They talk about
love at first sight, spiritual love, homosexuality, nature-love, traditional role models…
On stage, you’ll get a magic powder, an exciting love-portion out of Bossa Nova and Brazilian folklore, Latin Jazz
and Tango, Boleros and Rumbas – welcome in “Emozônia”!
This is an acoustic, contemporary experience, playing with sweet temptation and sensual seduction, full of
suspense, surprising sonoric textures, opening new worlds with each song. Be aware!
To expect is a Brazilian night full of poetry and intensive feelings, a journey into the depth of prickling sentiments,
discovering Brazilian love songs – some classical ones as well as those written by Célia Mara.
Célia Mara joined one of Brazil’s most extraordinary instrumental artists Benjamim Taubkin and Austria’s skillfull
Margarethe Deppe to discover this smooth world together with her.
Célia Mara, Brazilian singer songwriter resident in Austria, is among Europe’s most renowned Brazilian world
music artist’s, her latest albums “bastardista” and “Santa Rebeldia” were highly acclaimed by the international
critics, with her band she brought her extraordinary bastardsound into big concert halls and festivals in Europe,
Northern Africa and Russia.
On piano, the virtuosu Benjamim Taubkin from São Paolo will give his personal flavor to Mara’s Brazilian love
songs… surprising, sensual, intensive… Benjamim is surely one of Brazil’s most recommended piano-players,
well known for his border- and genre crossing work in contemporary music, as director of big symphonic
orchestras as well as Solist or Bandleader in chamber music, in Choro or in Jazz. You might know him as well as
Sissy Possi’s sideman…
On Cello: you will discover Margarethe Deppe, German born Austrian by choice, the third lady in “meus amores”.
She is an impressive instrumentalist with a classical formation, well known for her experimental and transcultural
approach to the Cello.
