Product overview

FLOWTITE™ GRP pipe systems

FLOWTITE™ is a continuously wound glass fibre reinforced polymer (GRP) pipe,
suitable for pressure and non pressure applications. First produced in Norway
in 1971, the process has been refined over the past four decades to become
the “State-of-the-Art” technology in GRP pipe manufacture. The technology is
now being licensed on all continents with more than forty winding machines
operating in twenty one pipe factories world-wide.

The Australian technology licence is owned by RPC Pipe Systems of Adelaide

and through an exclusive partnership, Australian and New Zealand technical
marketing, sales and distribution is provided by Iplex Pipelines.

Manufacturing process
Pipes and fittings are manufactured in sizes ranging from DN300 to DN3000
for both pressure and non-pressure applications. The manufacturing process
is continuous and automated, which allows for rapid production rates with
exceptional quality control. To optimise material usage, resin, glass fibre and
filler materials are applied to a continuously advancing mandrel producing a
highly engineered composite pipe giving both high pressure resistance and
pipe stiffness. FLOWTITE™ GRP pipes are manufactured in 3m, 6m and 12m
lengths depending on the application with other lengths available on request.
The process allows for flexibility in design including the ability to modify resin
type depending on the application. The resulting FLOWTITE™ pipe provides high
strength, chemical resistance and excellent hydraulic performance.
