ACTIVITY PROPOSAL

1. Title of the Activity : National Book Week

2. Activity Duration : November 12-16, 2018
3. Recipients : All students

4. RATIONALE

Books play an important role of a teacher, guide, and friend in our life. Without
books life is impossible.
Books share our pain, books guide to use to lead future with confidence. Books
explore creativity and clarity in student’s minds. Books are teaching tools for teachers.
Books are with us from school times. Books never die. Books will exist till the end
of this world. Only books can feel our pain and happiness. That’s how books play an
important role in our life.
This National Book Week Celebration, Hubasan Elementary School enjoins
everyone, especially young children, to build a passion for good books and reading as it
is one of the most effective methods of learning.

5. Mechanics
a. In line with this activity, all teachers and non-teaching staff are enjoined to conduct
the suggested activities in the attached enclosure of the unnumbered Division
Memorandum series 2018.
b. Activities for the National Book Week are as follows:
 Parade of Book Character to be done on November 12, 2018.
 Design a Bookmark Contest develops the value of using recycled materials,
creativity of the students and personal touch into making unique bookmarks.
This will be done on the November 13, 2018.
 The Bookface Contest encourage students to extend their passion in library
and books by means of presenting them in art of photography and drawing.
This contest will be held on November 14, 2018.
 The Joy of Reading Selfie will be participated by all teachers and non-teaching
personnel to be done on November 15, 2018.
 Lastly, Storytelling Contest will be held on November 16, 2018 during the Book
Week Culmination. This contest is open to all Grades 4 to 6 students. The story
 may be in English or Filipino and must be delivered within seven minutes to be
judged by selected advisers.
 Activity Completion Report with MOVs in hard copies shall be maintained by
the coordinator of the activity and submit to the School Head on or before
December 3, 2018 while the soft copies of the report can be emailed to
climclent@yahoo.com.
