Symptom
Depending on the Basis release used, the following problems occur during the generation of authorization profiles for roles:

l Releases 7.31 and 7.40:

1. Profile generation in transaction SUPC fails for any roles, even though there are no authorization problems or inconsistent role data.
2. When the corrections in SAP Note 1723881 are implemented, according to section III, 8.b of the SAP Note text, profile generation
should be possible in display mode of transaction PFCG even for roles that have not been assigned a profile name yet. His does not
work, however: the system prompts you to enter a profile name.

l Releases 7.50 and 7.62:

Transaction SUPC works correctly. Profile generation in display mode of transaction PFCG works for roles without assigned profiles, unless
you use the new ALV to display the authorization data (see SAP Note 2086293).

This is a follow-on error caused by the correction delivered with SAP Note 1723881.

Solution
Use transaction SNOTE to implement the correction instructions or import the relevant Support Package.
