Miss Schappaugh was given in marriage by her father. She was lovely in a wedding gown of
Chantilly lace and nylon tulle. The tight fitting lace bodice over taffeta was fashioned with
a pointed waistline and lace-etched V neckline with long lace sleeves which came to points
over the wrists; the full skirt of lace was accented at the hemline with a tulle ruffle. She
wore a lace and seed pearl headpiece with silk illusion, elbow length veil. She carried pink
roses on a white lace-covered Bible.

Mrs. LeRoy Lhamon, sister of the bride, served as matron of honor. Her dress was of baby
blue nylon dotted swiss over taffeta, styled with a shirred bodice, empire waistline, and a
full circular ballerina skirt. She wore a white lace hat and white shoes. She carried a basket
of pink and blue daisies.

The bride's gown and that of the matron of honor were made by the bride's sister, Mrs.
Curtis Hillman.

LeRoy Lhamon, brother-in-law of the bride, attended the bridegroom as best man. Lyle
Colson, William Lehman, Roger Schappaugh and Curtis Hillman, all of Pekin were the
ushers. Roger Schappaugh and William Lehman lighted the candles.

Daisy-Trimmed Cake

A reception, attended by 150 friends and relatives of the couple, was held in the church
basement, immediately following the ceremony. A three-tier white Wedding cake,
encircled with pink and blue daisies, centered the serving table. Those serving the guest
were: Mrs. Paul Ritthaler, Mrs. Everett Claton, and Mrs. Virgil Romans, all sisters of the
bride. Mrs. Earl Schappaugh and Mrs. Loren Schappaugh, sisters-in-law of the bride,
presided at the gift table. Miss Bonny Colson, sister of the bridegroom, registered guests.
After the reception, the couple departed on a short wedding trip, for which the bride
chose a white dress and accessories as her going away costume.

Both Mr. and Mrs. Colson are graduates of Pekin Community high school. Mr. Colson now
is serving in the U.S. Army at Fort Sheridan, Ill. The new Mrs. Colson is residing with him
there.
