(Parliament) received the assent of the President on the 3l st May, 201 8 is hereby
published for general information:-

An AclJ rther lo amend lhe President's Salary, Allovances and

Privileges Act, 1975

WHEREAs it is expedient further to amend the President's Salary,

Allowances and Privileges Act, 1975 (LVlll of 1975), for the purposes
hereinafter appearing;

It is hereby enacted as follows:

l. Short title and commencement.---( I ) This Act may be called the

President's Salary, Allowances and Pnvileges (Amendment) Act, 2018.

(2) It shall come into force at once.

2. Substitution of section 3, Act LVIII of 1975.-ln the president,s

Salary, Allowancer and Privileges Act, 1975 (LVIII of 1975), hereinafter
referred to as the r;aid Act, for section 3, the following shall be substituted,
namely:-.

"3. Monthly Salary.-{l) The Covernment shall pay prer month salary
to the President as specified in the Fourth Schedulc.

(2)The (iovernment may, by .notification in the official Gazette,

amend the Fourth lichedule to increase the salary of the president keeping in
view the guiding principle that the remuneration of the president shall be a
symbolic one rupec higher than the salary of any holder of public office in
relation to alfairs of the Federation.".

3. Insertion of Fourth Schedule, Act LVIII of 1975.-ln the said

Act, after the Third Schedule, the following Fourth Schedule, shall be inserted,
namely:-
