Advantages of living in Honduras

Many people, whether they are foreigners or Hondurans, speak badly of our country, they
describe it as a place where there is only violence, death, poverty, insecurity, destruction and
other worse things, but in addition to the bad things are also good ... now we are leaving to focus
on the advantages of living in Honduras, a beautiful land full of many natural and cultural riches.
The purpose of this blog is to make a comparison between good and bad things.

1. Natural Wealth

Honduras has an immense variety of natural, cultural and archaeological riches, which can be
distinguished as "Three Great Worlds". Our country Honduras in three great Worlds combines its
tropical forests with the permanent memories of centuries-old civilizations and the flavor of the
Caribbean environment to offer you an unforgettable experience in your vacations. The first world
is made up of the rich tropical nature. Honduras has been blessed with an impressive diversity of
flora and fauna for which Central America has been characterized.
2. Tourism

Honduras has joined the more than 70 countries that have pledged to support the travel and
tourism sector as a way to promote inclusive growth and development. Political support at the
highest level is a critical factor in promoting the role of tourism in national economic and
development policies. Counting Honduras, there are already a total of 73 countries around the
world that have received the Open Letter on travel and tourism. Making tourism a priority in your
agenda is an important and wise decision. In 2015, Honduras received 885,000 international
tourists, a figure that represents an increase of 2.6% compared to 2014 as (Central américa Data,
2018) said.

3. Cultural wealth

The culture of this country is the set of expressions of a people and these consist of customs,
practices, codes, rules and rules of the way of being, dressing, religion, rituals, and norms of
behavior and belief systems. Honduras is a multicultural country. The ethnic as (Wikipedia, 2018)
the composition of Honduras would be as follows: 1% whites, 2% black garífunas, 6% indigenous
and the rest of the population is mostly mestizo. This conglomeration of racial or ethnic groups is
what ultimately contributes to the richness of Honduran culture. And it is that they are more than
three hundred years of Hispanic colonial history in Honduras that left their mark on the numerous
religious, civil and military constructions.
Disadvantages

1. Insecurity

We currently live in a country where citizens have panicked due to the high rate of citizen
insecurity, we Hondurans lack security even in our own homes, therefore, we can corroborate that
it is necessary for our governments to make intelligent and accurate decisions to combat such a
situation. The most sensitive part of the issue is the scourge of homicides, whose rate increases
every year, which in one way or another greatly affects the population of the country.

2. Unemployment
Unemployment is a problem of a personal and social nature, because the lack or loss of
employment causes family crises due to the reduction of their income and also causes chain
reactions in the income of other people. Many of the Honduran population is faced with
employment problems. We find the unemployed, people with visible underemployment, people
with invisible underemployment, the potentially active and the discouraged. The unemployed are
the people affected by open unemployment. It includes the unemployed and new workers who
did not work, but are available to do so and carried out job search actions.

3. High basic basket

Honduras has the highest basic basket of America as (El tiempo, 2016) says. The constant increases
in the price of the products of the basic family basket, in the midst of a weak economy, where
unemployment is permanent, becomes a threat to Honduran families who are denied the
opportunities to supply their most basic needs. in a cruel and inhuman government, a government
that governs for a ruling class, that does not care about the poor. The basic family basket is
unattainable, 20 products is more than a mockery, because the real problem is price control.
4. High interest rates

Honduras according to (La Prensa, 2015) has the highest interest rate in Central America,
presenting 16.65%, higher than that of Costa Rica, which is 14.77%. The short-term active interest
rate that is used by the institutions of the financial system to charge for the loans granted to
economic agents and individuals is 20.88% for Honduras; 15.94% in Costa Rica; 13.15% in
Guatemala; 11.49% in Nicaragua; and 6.23% in El Salvador. This is how Honduras has the highest
active interest rate in the Central American region. In this regard, President Juan Orlando
Hernandez said: "We must have a dialogue with the banking and productive sector of the country
because to continue lending only to consumption is to continue condemning the country to be
poor, and that is not fair."

5. Environmentalproblems

The contamination of rivers and streams is a problem that no authority can avoid in this country.
Converted into drains, garbage dumps and other dirty activities these flows are increasingly
deteriorating, the quality of the water that ran through these natural springs has been left behind,
the growth of human settlements in recent years has negatively impacted on life of rivers and
streams that were previously free of all pollution and destruction. Honduras has a high
concentration of polluted rivers, the result of human activity and population growth as well as the
effect of increasing urbanization and industrialization, which generates negative results in living
resources, in the health of people, the same use of water among others.
The actual situation in our country is very complex.

There are many thing in different fields that is to be concern about it. The politic crisis, criminal
events, economic crisis.

Regardless who side is speaking, there are possibly solution to this situation.
We will be neutral in this case.

Economic
There are many things that are affecting the economic situation in Honduras.
Possible solution of unemployment (one of the main reason of the economic problem).
The action is simple in fact, we need more employees, because our country is generating
professional people every year, like technicians and professionals with university degree, but
when they are ready to work, the offer`s job are very few, so one professional can expend many
months looking for a job.

That leads us to another problem, if for a professional is hard to get a job, what happen with the
people who can notget their professional degrees?
So is obviously that the government who is responsible for the economic of this country must look
the way to make deals according to be a country attractive to international investment, we need
more industries who are interested to do their manufacturing process in Honduras, like the textile
industries, who is a mayor part of the economic in the north coast, for example, the government
needs to create a very attractive offer to this kind of industries, like they made with so many call
centers in our country in the past years, that really generates a lot of new jobs, but also we must
see the factor who are the people who can work in that places, bilingual ones, is truth that this call
centers generated many jobs, but this ones are for students who are bilingual and are students, is
very difficult for a person who has to raise a family, do it with the money that the call centers pay.
So other solution must be to invest in the agricultural, our country has many land to invest, one of
the best coffee in the world, that are things that must be exploit, help the farmers, invest in their
lands, that people choose work in their lands, work in their own efforts, and not go to the city and
get a university degree, but they are a important part of the economic in the country.

The actual current of action of the government who is depending of the money who send the
people from USA to their families in Honduras, is truth that this dollars when are spend in
Honduras becomes a help in the economic, but, is no use because that is not a long term solution.
Devalued the Lempira over the dollar to raise the economic only create a problem in the society
because more and more industries now is charging their services in dollars.
The government must recover the Lempira over the Dollar.

Tourism is one way to raise the economic with dollars, of course is the right path with this dollars
came from foreign.
In resume we need more and better jobs, for every education degrees, more invest it agricultural,
stop devaluate the Lempira, and the most important thing, a lot of compromise from everyone of
us.

Political
Our country is in a very bad political crisis, is truth that maybe the worst part seems to be over.
Since there are no more criminal actions from the people protesting against the reelection
president, on the streets, but this actual government has the half of the people on the country
against, people who don’t accept Juan Orlando like their president, is very difficult to run a country
in this cases, many people is leaving the country in groups of hundreds, looking the get in EUA for
a better life, because they do not trust in our politicians.

The solution from a some parts of the people is the resign from Juan Orlando and most of the
PartidoNacional congress man, but this will not happen, so the solution must be do in any case
from the actual government, they need to gain the confidence of the people, need to do things for
the benefit of the people, raise the economy, stop the impunity between politicians, stop the
crime in the streets, the crisis will only get better if the actual government benefits the people,
because everyone is tired of the corruption of the politicians.

New laws regarding the election process needs to be take, more efficiency, the corruption must
stop with honest actions.

And for us, the people needs more intelligence and elect the right people, stop of elect people like
ex football players, people from tv shows who are popular, we need honest professionals, integrity
and the most important thing, they must love the country and his people.
Advantages and Disadvantages of Migration

Impacts on host countries

Positive
Job vacancies and skills gaps can be filled.
Economic growth can be sustained.
Services to an ageing population can be maintained when there are insufficient
young people locally.
The pension gap can be filled by the contributions of new young workers and they
also pay taxes.
Immigrants bring energy and innovation.
Host countries are enriched by cultural diversity.
Failing schools (and those with falling numbers) can be transformed.

Negative
Depression of wages may occur but this seems to be temporary.
Having workers willing to work for relatively low pay may allow employers to ignore
productivity, training and innovation.
Migrants may be exploited.
Increases in population can put pressure on public services.
Unemployment may rise if there are unrestricted numbers of incomers.
There may be integration difficulties and friction with local people.
Large movements of people lead to more security monitoring.
Ease of movement may facilitate organized crime and people trafficking.
 Impacts on countries of origin

Positive
Developing countries benefit from remittances (payments sent home by migrants)
that now often outstrip foreign aid.
Unemployment is reduced and young migrants enhance their life prospects.
Returning migrants bring savings, skills and international contacts.

Negative
Economic disadvantage through the loss of young workers.
Loss of highly trained people, especially health workers.
Social problems for children left behind or growing up without a wider family circle.

Migration can be caused by drought, conflicts, clashes and other events. Drought
can make people migrate with their livestock’s in search of food and pasture.

Conflicts and clashes make many people migrate from their homes to save their
lives. When people migrate, the population of the country will decrease. When
clashes occur, many people will lose their lives too.
 CONCLUSIONS

 Honduras is a wonderful place despite all the calamities that are happening right now; it
has a great biodiversity and awesome places to go.
 The government of Honduras must take an active participation to reduce all the criminality
and poverty rates, to make a great country with opportunities for everyone.
 In terms of migrations it has a positive side for the ones that reach other countries when
they can find an opportunity to grow financially and to help the rest of their families by
sending them money which also increase the GDP of the country that they leave.
 The negative side of migrations besides the low life quality that the migrants had during
their journey, for the country that they reach is it that has the possibility to increase their
criminal rates depending of the kind of migrants that they receive.
