 Introduction
Currently one of the problems of greatest concern in Ibague is also due to an economic
crisis in several sectors of the city, such as a decrease in jobs in the textile industry,
clothing and footwear.
Therefore, it is taken into account as a problem that gives us great attention and a report is
given of the city.

Actively participating in the improvement objectives in regard to this problem and collating
bibliographical sources that reflect us clearer ideas and also be able to provide solutions
General objectives

Determine the possible causes of unemployment in Ibague to provide alternative solutions

and study the factors that impede their industrial and economic development through the
collection of data and statistical figures.

specific objectives

 identify what causes a society to have a high unemployment rate

 identify the reason for unemployment
 manage to identify the unemployment rate of the city
 Justification
According to the latest household survey conducted by DANE.
The capital of Tolima appears with an unemployment figure of 14.8% on the part of
Cúcuta, Quibdó, Armenia and Valledupar.
In the mobile quarter January - March, 246 million people were employed in Ibague.
In the same period according to the survey there were 38 thousand unemployed and 147
thousand inactive. (Magazine Ecos del combeima, survey figures revealed by DANE)
For this reason you should have knowledge of a topic mediated several sources of
information and provide possible solutions to this problem as an example to create a
company and generate sustainable employment through projects that allow us its viability.

in Ibague the unemployment is evident, and is a factor very worrying, because until at year
2000 the unemployment was normal in comparison at others cities.
the principals factors of unemployment are demand of personal, the low incomes and the
poverty in the city.
this is a cause of the high informal of work in the city.

However, the work is aimed at people who are interested in knowing what are the possible
causes that generates unemployment in the city, to likewise have clearer ideas on the
subject and be able to participate actively in each of these projects in March.

The main objective of this research is to determine the unemployment situation of the last
years of the city of Ibagué. This information can be useful for the government to provide
more benefits to employers and so they can open vacancies in companies, it also helps us to
know the main factors of unemployment in the city and thus be able to apply corrective
measures for the future.
