EDC CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY POLICY

Pursuant to the mandate of the company, CSR program shall be an integral part of the corporate
strategy geared towards contribution to society as an element of good corporate governance.

The CEO and Resident Manager shall be the CSR chairperson in their respective areas of responsibility.
On behalf of the Resident Manager, the personnel of the Community Partnerships Department shall be
the frontliners in the implementation of CSR programs. Employee volunteers shall provide support to
the various CSR activities.

The Company is committed to promote social and environmental prosperity through the
implementation of a comprehensive, responsive and sustained program on social responsibility (CSR), in
partnership with its stakeholders and in keeping with its energy objectives.

The functional responsibilities of CPD shall include social acceptability, community wealth and welfare
(poverty alleviation), employee participation/volunteerism and monitoring and evaluation.

EDC’s CSR programs are generally classified as Health, Education, Livelihood and Environmental
assistance or HELEN.

OBJECTIVE
To create and maintain hospitable social climates to ensure unhampered operations for all energy
projects of the Company.

COVERAGE
The Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) program of the Company covers primary, secondary
and tertiary stakeholders, as well as employees.
Primary Stakeholders include:

 all host barangays and company-designated primary partner barangays (PPB)


immediately surrounding the project and along immediate project access roads

 potential receptors of primary environmental impacts

 resettled communities

 affected landowners

 high risk areas proximate to the project

 indigenous peoples within the identified geothermal development block of existing


energy projects
Secondary Stakeholders include:

 adjoining barangays

 host municipalities/cities

 potential receptors of secondary environmental impacts

 secondary risk areas

 media

 national agencies, regulatory bodies, and the legislature with direct or indirect effect on
the energy sector

Tertiary Stakeholders include:

 targeted communities ( with interest to the Company )

 host province and host region

 various sectors within the host province/region

 non-government organizations

 energy industry partners


 academe

 church and other religious groups

 contractors

 areas or groups needing immediate humanitarian aid ( e.g. calamities, disasters )
