Depending on machine configuration, the control panel can differ slightly from what is shown here.
Key description
The keys of the machine-specific control panel are fitted with LEDs.
These LEDs indicate the status of the function that is connected with
the corresponding key:
LED dark
corresponding function is not active (switched off)
LED lights
corresponding function is active (switched on)
LED flashes slowly
The function associated with the key is activated, but is not opera-
tional owing to the status of the controller.
Auxiliary OFF
This button switches off the machine's auxiliary units. Only effective
if spindle and program are off.
Auxiliary ON
This button makes the machine's auxiliary units ready for operation
(hydraulics, feed drives, spindle drives, lubricant, coolant).
The button must be pressed for around 1 second.
Tapping the AUX ON key is a clear function and causes the central
lubrication system to perform a lubrication squirt.
Enable button
This button is required during initial set-up mode for the axis move-
ments.
In operating mode 3, the enable button is used to start command
sets and spindle movements.
Repos
Repositioning, approach contour again in JOG mode
Ref point
Enable the sub-mode "Reference point" (Ref) to approach reference
points in JOG mode.
Automatic
Controlling the machine by automatically executing programs
Teach In
Producing programs in the dialogue with the machine in MDA mode.
Hand wheel
This key enables and/or disables the connected hand wheel.
Single block
This functions allows you to run a parts program block by block.
You can enable the Single Block feature in Automatic mode.
Cycle stop
After pressing the NC stop button after the controller has taken over
the function, processing of the current parts program is suspended.
Machining can then be continued by pressing the NC Start key.
Cycle start
After pressing the NC Start key, the selected parts program will be
started with the current block.
Spindle Stop
This key interrupts the running of the main spindle and the power
tool. If this happens during a feed movement, the latter must be
stopped first.
Feed Stop
This button interrupts a programmed carriage movement in "AUTO-
MATIC" mode.
Feed Start
This button continues a programmed but interrupted carriage move-
ment.
If the main spindle motion was also interrupted, this must be
switched on again first.
Arrow keys
The axis selection keys enable the NC axes to traverse in JOG mode.
Depending on the machine configuration, various arrow keys are
available
Rapid
If this button is pressed in addition to the arrow keys, the axes con-
cerned move in rapid traverse.
Moving the carriage in rapid traverse is only allowed if the chip guard
doors are closed

In rapid traverse 100% will not be exceeded.
EMERGENCY SHUTDOWN
Press the red button only in an emergency.
Effects:
As a rule, the EMERGENCY SHUTDOWN button will lead to all
drives being stopped with the greatest possible braking torque.
Unlock: Pull out the button
To continue working, press the following keys:
RESET, AUX ON.
Note:
The function of the EMERGENCY SHUTDOWN button must be
checked every time the machine is switched on (see "Switching
on process")!
Master switch

0 - OFF
1 - ON
Help key
Pressing this button calls up context-sensitive online help.
The operator will be supported with extensive help on the current
topic on the screen.
Cancel Alarm
Pressing this button deletes alarms and reports that are marked
with this symbol.
Next Window

Channel
Select or advance control channel
Cursor right
Navigates the cursor one symbol to the right.
Edit operating mode:
Open directory or program (e.g. cycle).
Cursor left
Navigates the cursor one symbol to the left.
Edit operating mode:
Close directory or program.
Danger:
If EMERGENCY SHUTDOWN status is not displayed on the
screen, the machine must not be used!
Note:
During manual operating modes, keep the enable button pressed
down, until the test is completed.
Notes
• The machine is switched off with the master switch.
• It is recommended that the machine is switched off only
with the tool turret idle.
• Operations can be interrupted with the Reset key.
RESET interrupts all running machine functions.
Information:
In automatic mode and when operating the machine with bar
loader as an active program, the safety test is run automatically
after reaching M30 in the program.
After the test, the machine continues the operation; no interven-
tion by the operator is required.
During manual operating modes, keep the enable button pressed
down, until the red Test stop messages have gone out.

Feed setting
The maximum milling performance of the machine
with steel Ck 45 is 48 cm³/min.
The diagram shows the possible cutting depths
and feed rates for different milling cutter diam-
eters.
Example:
D=40 mm, t=6 mm;
Result: F=200 mm/min
The specified values apply to steel Ck 45 and
carbide cutters. With softer or harder materials,
Note: the values are to be changed respectively.
The diagram was created only by mathemat- I case of milling cutter diameters smaller than

Danger:
• Wear protective shoes. Tools etc. may slip from the hand.
• Wear protective gloves; tools, workpieces and machine parts can be sharp-edged and can become
very hot.
• It is essential to hold the tool holder with your hand when loosening it. This prevents the tool holder
falling out of the milling spindle cone in an uncontrolled way.
