Capstone Intern
• Worked with academic advisors in the form of shadowing during student advising sessions and
interpreting theory to practice within student advising specifically with undeclared and transfer
students
• Assisted students with future career options and declaring majors to guide them to their goals.
• Worked closely with the Executive Director to collect and analyze data to assess the current
success and trends of the department’s Discovery Track Program for first-year undeclared
students.
• Conducted a mixed-method research project through the office to understand the benefits and
areas of improvement within the newly established Discovery Track Program, which allowed
for theory to practice implementation for undeclared students.

• Daily responsibilities include reviewing and editing store schedules in accordance with payroll,
monitoring overtime, editing timecards and maintaining associate attendance records.
• Assisted with the hiring process, including interviewing candidates, processing I-9 forms and
leading orientations to ensure candidates and new hire associates met proper requirements.

• Lead team members in daily tasks to meet company goals and standards. Worked with team
members to develop their leadership and persistence within the department and store.
• Provided excellent customer service to improve customer satisfaction, worked with upper
management to develop continuity plans to increase sales, and customer service score.
• Worked closely with team members through problem solving and assisting customers on a
daily basis through hospitality mentality.
• Developed proper communication skills needed to assist customers through challenges by
focusing on the customer and ensuring customers left the store satisfied.

Worked closely with local and national organizations, such as the Boy’s and Girl’s Club, March of
Dimes and Autism Speaks to establish volunteer initiatives with fellow associates.
