Workshop on

Introduction to Assessment tools and their types

Overview
Assessment is part of every academic discipline and also gained importance due to
everlasting competition in the medical field. Its quality is also required to compare
graduates of one university (UHS in our case) from other. Being a good medical teacher, one
should be able to develop good quality assessment items. The Community Medicine
Department, GMC on the behalf of Medical Education department is committed to raise the
standards of assessment items understanding for which we have planned series of three
workshops.

These workshops are designed on MCQ, SEQs and Blueprint development versus TOS
whereby, the participants learn by discussing, sharing their experience and completing
exercises individually and in groups.

The current workshop on MCQ development, their basics, its peculiar issues and
shortcomings in the context of basic sciences will be completed is the 2 ½ hours. Kindly do
not make any other commitments during this time. It is compulsory to attend every session,
since these are inter-connected; missing any one session would lead to deficient knowledge
and gap in learning. Also, Certificate of Attendance will only be awarded after successful
completion of the entire workshops.

NOTE: Please keep your mobiles switched off or put on silent mode while the sessions are in
progress. Only those participants who attend the sessions will be awarded certificate of
participation.
